Maybe not all companies can mandate vaccinations (though based in comments it seems that some do). But insurance companies certainly can adjust their rates based on risky behaviors, as tobacco users know. I’m surprised they haven’t already started jacking up rates for anti-vaxxers even before covid.

Take your damn star and get Audi here!

I can personally attest that 2016 BMW 2-series have wiring that attracts mice like Reeses Pieces attract stranded aliens, because they ate through multiple wiring harnesses. While, in the same driveway, a 2G Pilot only attracted them to a single harness and a fuel line. (This was early during Covid while the BMW sat

Yes, but when speed limits are appropriate to road conditions (no pedestrians or bikes on restricted highways), vehicles are driven in a predictable and consistent manner (passing on left, trucks and slower vehicles to the right), and vehicles are safe and driven within their limits, speed is simply not a problem. See

My old VFR750F just had a little over 100 hp. Nice and tame enough for ordinary riding, but up around 10K rpm, it had PLENTY of juice.  I still kinda miss that bike...

+1 on the base 228i. My pesonal preference would be for a straight-6 married to a 6-speed. But my wife settled on an almost-base 228i, and it’s hard to imagine a more balanced pleasure driver. She did upgrade to AWD (because New England) and nav, but honestly, I'd prefer it stripped.  Now if only they offered it with

I think where They Shall Not Grow Old fell down a bit was due to the nature of the footage they had to work with. Seemingly endless scenes of off-duty soldiers milling around and clowning for the cameras, as well as some drills and practice. When it reached the all-out combat at the end, the cameras weren’t rolling.

Exactly, and I’m one of those 2 people. With society opening back up, I expect to be doing a lot more travel. And I will not be renting through Hertz after this.

I agree with a lot of Waters’ political anger, but I think he’s mis-applying his support of the Palestinian people when he tries to “cancel” musicians who choose to perform for their Israeli fans. His use of the Star if David as a political symbol is also questionable. Alienating Israelis isn’t going to win them over

No. All I want from any carmaker’s “Infotainment” system is Android Auto. All my wife needs is Apple CarPlay. Give us both, and we’ll buy it. But I will NEVER buy another car loaded up with a bloated, proprietary bundle of half-assed apps which they will stop updating after 6 months. Never again.

In the privacy of their room, yes. But on a zoom call, in front of co-workers, is like doing it in a conference room. Gender and ethnicity doesn’t enter into it: if you or I did that, we would get our one meeting with HR to sign our paperwork and pick up our belongings.  Normals don't get second chances sfter

God, we can’t even train Americans in one state to drive like Americans in the next one. In MD, the consensus seems to be that the left lane is for locking the cruise control at the speed limit, and the right ones for practicing swerving. Small wonder Europeans think we’re idiots.

I’m all for small pickups, and some model of small-ish truck will be my next purchase. I need a 4 door utility vehicle with a bed, and don’t want something enormous, expensive, or gas-guzzling. Hybrid is a bonus, as long as it doesn’t hurt the utility value.  So I'm happy to see this.

Counterpoint: cars and moyorcycles go to racetracks, Jeeps go to offroad parks or David’s yard. Too many drivers suck at driving, none of them are safe on public roads.

My inner pedant is twitching at your inner pendant. Unless you literally mean a pendant, in which case... yeah, you do you....

Came here for the Fear and Loathing reference, left happy.

Came here to point out the excellent (as always) FortNine video. I personally am not in the market for an airbag vest, but if I were, it would be a simple tether design.

Wow, a Buick I would have wanted to own? It *must* be an abomination...

That reminds me of my favorite kinja gif:

Awesome article, both because of the important semi-missing context for Sam, and for teaching (some of) us something new.
