Lovingly hand-hewn from the Pennsylvania hills using time-honored techniques and Amish-built axes
Alas, hand-mined coal is hard to come by. Mechanized mining has ruined coal as a Luddite gift for nigh on a century now.
Boy, that lady must have been pissed when she finally got around to seeing Rocky Horror
Unless Thrawn had a way to communicate from “out there”. His people came from “out there”, after all.
I’m sure he has some notes, but not the whole story. He was inspired to give her a Gandalf-like white cloak, but is it necessary that he knew the exact circumstances of why she had it? I suspect that, after he wrote the epilogue, he spent the next few years between other work mulling over the possibilities.
Also, people seem to think that writing is a matter of a story popping into your head fully formed: <POOF> “Ah, so that’s what happens - better go write it down before I forget”. There’re very clearly striking a balance between old-school “adventure of the week” serial TV (and even older serial movies), and the modern long-form stories we get today. I think the “side quests” keeps it true to Star Wars’ pulp roots, while allowing the show to have fun with different settings and characters (and…
