Exactly this. Modern guest stars showing up at a run-down, fifth-rate vaudeville revue run by a bunch of incompetent lunatics was all the “plot” it ever needed. Of course, it was the incredible comedic wit and timing of Henson and Oz that really made it shine. I fear that, even if they do go back to their roots,

“With appreciably thinner air than earth...”

I don’t recall dot-matrix printers having much of a smell. But if you’re old enough to have gone to school before the early 90s or so, you’re probably remembering the sweet, sweet smell of freshly-printed mimeograph paper. Any time a purple-texted test was handed out hot off the “ditto” machine, we would all take a

Interesting video, great channel. But I wonder why he did so much research, yet still repeatedly mispronounced “Dornier”. Neither the French nor German pronunciations are close to his “Door-neer”. It’s closer to “Darn-yay” or “Don-yay”.

Based on the Osprey’s safety record (at least at first... yeah, it’s gotten somewhat better), I’ll fly conventional fixed-wing, thanks. The fact remains that conventional take-off and landing is far more efficient than VTOL, requires less complexity, and is therefore more practical, and safer. STOL had a place for

It came close, but Jeb is still busy trying to fly Elon’s Tesla back to Earth.

The “cartoons are for kids” trolls never seem to grasp the irony that the films they hold up as being “REAL Star Wars” are also just big, lavishly produced kiddy action flicks.

Well, I'm sold.  If my wife gets pissed that I upgraded, it's all your fault! :)

Yeah, I’m overdue to upgrade my screen. But my lowly old 1080p non-HDR plasma still looks damn good to me :)

Good point, and I’ve only heard good things about Alamo Drafthouse.  As a movie buff, it’s definitely on my to-do list!

I’ll agree if we’re talking about comedies, where crowd reaction is a part of the experience. Or for independent specialty theaters like Alamo Drafthouse, where you get groups of movie buffs all together to experience and discuss a film. But those aren’t typical of the mega-plex experiences I've had.  YMMV, of course.

That’s fair. In my case, I’ve valued having a decent at-home moviegoing experience, but I understand that not everyone has the same priorities, or in some cases, the means. I don’t argue that theaters should go away, and in pre-Covid times, I certainly went to the theater for big new releases.

This. I recall walking out of Return of the King in a big chain theater because the sound quality was inferior to my home theater at the time. That was almost 20 years ago, and while some chain theaters have upgraded, oveall they haven’t kept up with the rate of improvement in quality and affordablility in home

If your idea of “fun, communal activity” includes waiting in line to try to get decent seats, having people loudly eating right behind you, and the occasional rude stranger, then sure, it’s a hoot.

Could have been an interesting moment, if they’d ever meant for Dark Rey to be anything more than a trailer gimmick / callback to the Dagobah Vader scene.

Nah, just giant tubes of red hand sanitizer

Yeah, my kids have been using our extra respirators and N95 masks playing Darth Vader in their toilet paper forts. They’ve been a real lifesaver.

Damn right! That busybody deserves a goldarned medal for risking his/her life to walk right up to that RV and show it what for!

But... why? Nobody is clamoring for 16x9 Kurosawa.

Definitely 3: Clean lines, minimal greebles, understandable layout, and a utilitarian interior (other than the hardwood dining room). I’d argue that it feels more consistent than most Enterprises.
