I have to wonder if that’s common practice in some international markets, though. I know in my travels that I’ve seen DVD copies of films still in release in stores (as well as CDs full of mp3 files), and nobody seemed too care whether they’re legit. I doubt that US studios are getting fees for every movie shown on…
Ok, that’s cool - I do love Germany, you have such a nice mix of culture and scenery. I guess not quite as much wildlife :)
Big meat fan here, and we consume a lot of Boca product in this house. I wouldn’t call their beef or chicken patties 98% of the way to meat, in terms of taste or texture, but they are a quick, and tasty, healthy-ish alternative.
Ha. Troll talks tough, but if you were to threaten my kids over your pet (which, I realize, you would not be man/woman enough to do when not protected by anonymity), you would face some real legal consequences (as well as physical, if you should happen to be male and actually make said threats to my face). And nobody…
Carbs need cleaning
As loathe as I am to call for more government bureaucracy, I have to agree. My (limited) understanding is that much of the FAA’s airworthiness certification process is self-policed by the manufacturer, especially in the increasingly complex area of electronic avionics. And, no matter what lip service they may pay to…
Threatening a neighbor’s children, even as a joke, would have far more pressing consequenses than willfully allowing your cats to shit on their lawn.
What area do you live where there are no outdoor threats to cats? In New England, we have coyotes, foxes, fishers, and owls, and now “coywolves”(coyote/wolf hybrids). Not to mention cars. My mother has recently had two outdoor cats disappear within a year or so, and is now a committed indoor-cat only person.
Well, now I feel justified for my comment the last time I stepped foot in a Lexus dealership:
I don’t see why not... I buy from sunsoil.com (formerly Green Mountain CBD). I’m sure there are other quality producers out there, but these guys are fairly local to me (northeast US), and I’ve had a consistently good customer experience with them.
I’ve been taking a good quality CBD oil for anxiety, 20mg every day or two, for about a year now. I feel that it has helped my anxiety, and makes me a bit more mellow, “taking the edge off” without putting me in a fog. It costs me about a buck a dose, or $180-360 / year. I’m fairly frugal, and dismissive of most…
Exactly - they don’t have the resources to go patrolling for tiny settop boxes. But, if anything in your home is causing disruptive rf interference, and you refuse to replace it, you will be subject to some very large fines by the FCC. They don’t care whether the interference is caused by a set-top box, flourescent…
True, but in the case of content piracy, it’s the content owners who have to prove that you are torrenting (or whatever). What the hell is the FCC going to do, drive around with pirate set-top box detector vans?
Always two there are... a master, and an apprentice.
You raise a really good point. I went into Captain America expecting something different, and I didn’t care for it as much the first time around. Not sure what I expected or why it didn’t work for me. But the second time I saw it, I knew what to expect, and enjoyed it a whole lot more.
Oops... my bad, you are correct. Wrong part of the spectrum. Time to dust off my ham radio manuals...
Yeah, Guardians was certainly goofy, but I guess when I say “silly”, I don’t mean realistic. I’m totally fine with suspending disbelief for Norse gods, superheroes, and talking raccoons. It’s just when the internal logic of the story doesn’t hold together for me that I have a problem.
As far as I understand it, they chose to capture the image in 1mm wavelength (x-ray) because that frequency would penetrate the cloud of dust which surrounds it. And the black hole itself is smaller than the “shadow” in the image, about 1/5 the size.
Unbelievable. I’m just so amazed to be living in a time when we can (sort of) see an actual image of the shadow of a black hole. I never even thought I’d see the surface of Pluto in my lifetime, and now this.
