I bought some rubber rings just to try them on, see how they fit and feel. I don’t think I ever want to wear rings. They only cost me $5 for 3 rings though, so no biggie.

That feels a bit harsh to me. I honestly didn’t even know essay consulting was a thing until I saw this video, but it makes sense to me. Someone might be a genius electrical engineer but be complete shit at writing essay style papers. I’ve actually met people like that. Should  they be rejected from higher education

I would happily be named after a video game character

It would be nice if that money could help low-income students be able to attend college. You know, the ones that actually need a good education to get a half decent job.

If I ever have kids, I’m naming them Absolute Genius and Cool Dadio.

I’ll pick you back up.

Idea: You and me run a scam. We pretend to get married and require all guests to leave $100 gift cards. The perfect crime.

I’m just repeating what my Professor said. Maybe things changed a lot since he started teaching or maybe he’s much better at negotiating royalties percentages. He gave a lot of examples of artists trying to get past sampling and cover licenses. There was one very famous and popular song with a single drum beat sample

Oh, those dummies. They definitely could’ve got a much better deal if they asked before writing anything.

I got all this info from my professor who was a producer in the industry for about 30+ years. But let me do a quick google to confirm:

Actually the industry standard for covers and samples is only 7%. So if you wanted to record a cover of any song like say “Don’t Stop Believing”, “Take on Me” or “Beat It” you would pay the copyright owners 7% of whatever you make on it. This 90% figure is seriously fucking outrageous.

It’s solely because Disney lobbies/bribes the copywrite office to extend the copyright period whenever Mickey Mouse is in danger of going into the public domain.

I just did a quick search and Kanye West had over 100 writers work on one of his songs. It blows my mind.

Have you seen his video on Scatman? A truly touching and inspiring story around that song and singer.

It’s common for record companies to have big teams of song writers on hand. Also, it’s not uncommon for many current pop singers to not write much of their own songs at all. I’ve seen some songs with over 20 credited writers. Let me go google Grande’s stats:

No one’s ever given me a reason. Emailed staff 2 months ago and they said they’d fix it, but they didn’t.

And I’m back. My character was a quiet goth girl who was good at sneaking and melee combat. So basically Batman with boobs.

My old account is still banned since about two months ago. Meh.
