I think it would depend HIGHLY on what you do, there aren't many professions in which you can stay in the same position for 10 years and it still be challenging, and I would think if you are consistently being promoted that would not look bad to prospective employers when looking to change. I know I would definitely

yeah, that is not a sabbatical, then this article is BS as the VERY FIRST SENTENCE is "...to take a 2 year break". which is entirely different than quitting to blog full time.

the author ignores the scariest part of all of this, for me. what do you do when you get back?

plus the author was doing "just because" meaning there really was no urgency, could have taken your time, really planned it. moving ANYWHERE adds stress, doing it "just because" and picking a date because you "were gonna be there anyway" and then complaining about the process is ridiculous

I dont like it, using on a windows machine and it is not that different than just RDP'ing into the machine, the advantage to RDP is I can zoom in on anything on the screen, where as with parallels you can only zoom if the app supports it and then only IN the window so I can't zoom in on say the menu bar in chrome.

1) what does it matter to at all what I am doing, haha

every 4 months or so, always handle my phones with baby gloves and resell, never buy subsidized or on contract. currently on T-Mobile's $30 prepaid unlimited data plan

get really bored and buzzed/drunk

I will say most of my best creative ideas have come about while just joking around over drinks, once I sober up most of those ideas are "wow that is BAD" but more than a few times it's "wait, that is great!"

they don't have bottled water in Montreal??? I use bottled water every morning for my coffee anyway

it's ok to cry....unless it's baseball!!

biggest question: WHY DO YOU CARE????

I would agree with this article for everything except TV shows, I paid astraweb $25 for 180 GB's worth of downloading which is going to last me at least 3 months, setup a sickbeard server to follow all my shows (if you're on the west coast they are available to watch before they air), setup took about an hour. then

why the Nexus 4 in the picture?? step 1 should be "get a smartphone that works on verizon"

this one time I really really wanted to be in charge of this particular area but I was not the "next in line", my brother was, so I went with him on a walk and got some of my buddies to cause a stampede, and then I threw him into the stampede and killed him. Got the job.......no! wait! that was the Lion King. my bad

Apple IIc PLUS

everyone needs to cool it with the whole "this will change the way you watch tv" crap. unless someone magically gets all the content providers to play ball and make everything available on-demand nothing else is going to revolutionize TV

@timgray: 2nd!! this would be a great XBMC client and costs about half as much as it currently costs to build one

XBMC + SickBeard. hopefully the new Apple TV's will be able to run XBMC soon because a $100 client would be awesome!

is this a once a week thing?
