Lets not forget her concern after the death of Rhundas who was probably the closest thing she had to a bounty hunter friend. Samus has a personality but its not one of being submissive emotional trainwreck.

No people hated it because it turned Samus into a submissive person around a man. It completely went against everything that was established before that. No one is against giving her a character arc or bringing out her personality.

I wouldn’t say she was numb to his death but she lingered and probably had a small reflection on his passing but she also knows she cant linger as the X parasite and Raven Beak are to dangerous to leave alone for to long.

I agree with this. Other M tried to give her a personality but they did it all wrong. Like you said in Dread she shows it through body language. I’d also like to think after all shes been through she also knows that she cant linger as Raven Beak and the X parasite need to be dealt with ASAP.

I dont think a patch would fix that game especially the story.
