    To be fair, the pedestrians and victims in this Barcelona attack were not protesting/rioting against other protesters/rioters. They were just minding their own business. The Charlottesville one was two groups going at each other with weapons and force. Neither were fully ‘innocent’.

    This section was very scenic, but it was closed in 2008 due to increasing rockfall concerns, and is now bypassed by a 1.7km tunnel. There are talks to convert the upper part as a walking promenade, though.
