The fact that you haven’t read the comic, means you ought to be saying “well since I haven’t read it, I have no informed statements to make on the comic”. That’s what you should be saying, but you don’t, and it’s that flavor of proud ignorance that ruins this world. Comic books are not important, but calling out ignora

There is nothing wrong with me. There is everything wrong with you. You have admitted over and over that you haven’t read the story, and that is the point at which you should be saying, “and therefore I don’t know what I’m talking about, and I should shut the hell up”. But you’re not doing that, and THAT is the

Voting may not make the system everything it ought to be, but failing to vote sure as hell won’t make things better.

Revealium Karenum!

“Yes, I have said multiple times that I did not read this story.

Whether or not this reviewer you speak of read the comics, you didn’t read them, and that is the problem. You are ignorant and inexplicably proud of your ignorance. Comic books don’t matter in and of themselves, but you are pontificating on matters you know know a goddamn thing about, and THAT is what I have a problem

You cared enough to bring it up, so don’t claim any sort of high ground here.

“Yes, I said that I never read the story. But

The question comes up in the second issue, and then it comes up at least twice more in the story — including the conclusion, when for the first time ever, Cap manages a clean win over Crossbones, and no serum involved. Honestly, why are you arguing about the finer parts of this story that you never read, against

I actually can imagine war-free secession. The argument in favor is pretty hard to counter philosophically: if the American Revolution was justified because of lack of consent of the governed, then why would Secession not be? Given time and patience, I could see the Union and the Confederate states coming to some sort

Well, I read them, and — this may come as a surprise — the Internet one-sentence synopses are reductive and unhelpful. There was a lot going on in “City on Ice” that is worth noting: it involved a turf war between the Red Skull and the Kingpin (their contrasting rationales / justifications for drug-dealing showed some

At least some of the usual confusion that comes up over the Civil War is because we talk about the Civil War and Secession as the same thing. It’s two different events, and the one didn’t even need to lead to the other.

Did you actually read it?  I did, when it first came out.

Gonna put this here, because it kind of applies. I don’t mind if people think I’m an asshole; what I do mind is if they’ve got a point. So whenever people take issue with me, I spend a second checking whether they have a point. Once in a while they do, and I mend my ways; it leads to a cleaner conscience.

I have to admit, I can’t understand why anyone would even want an Egg McMuffin. The entire point of McMuffins is the meat, and there’s no point in getting anything but the sausage. It’s like watching a special cut of a “Transformers” movie that contains only the scenes with humans and no robots.

“as an extremely fit vegan and occasional consumer of heavily customized Taco Bell items

You took a hit for the good of humankind.  God bless you.  Thank you for your service.

It’s like people can’t find a happy medium on a lot of this stuff. I see a fair number of people who are taught as kids that they’re not allowed to speak their minds, ask for things, and so forth; but in adulthood they try to come to terms with how, yes, they ARE allowed to want and ask. Which, in and of itself, I’m

MARRY ME! I know where you live, kind of.

I watched the video with an intention to give her the benefit of the doubt. And indeed, at the very beginning, I was treating it like, “okay this is not her best day, but we’re all there once in a while, it happens”.
