Leo, I swear ... you NEED to go on TV man. Too much talent to keep it constrained in a blog. (even a massively popular one)

I was just aknowledging your argument, because even if the OP led to think I'm on the opposite fence, I'm not really taking any side here. I both agree with you (as a gamedev myself), and both think that 8-bit graphics feel like overused now in 2013.
Precisely :)
While this sounds like an incredible concept of a show, that could really help most (of us) daydreamers realize what running through the production chain really is, I really, really wish there weren't all those overdramatzing fx all over the place ... sudden cam zoom, dramatic music / silence to make a bit of words…
I find it funny how you label people trying to vulgarize gaming PCs as « Elitists », while your nickname is « Noble » :p
Haha yes, you beat me to it :D
Fair point ;) Although, I don't really need photorealism, I really do prefer stylized textures instead. But I'm not unhappy with such a change. In the 90's, we had to imagine the extension of the world we were roaming in, I loved that too, and gamedevs even wonderfully played with that notion (secret areas, endless…
I can understand the appeal, Minimalism can be quite charming in every art form :)
I like the Art direction on this one more ! thanks !
Sorry, I should have been more precise : by "ugly" pixels, I mean "the times when most pixellated games were displaying ugly ones" ;) (aka CRT monitors, 16 color palettes, blurry edges, etc)
Maybe it's because I've witnessed and experienced the entire evolution of videogames from huge ugly pixels to glorious & immersive 3D models, but I really can't dive into 8-bit "retro" pixel games anymore, whatever depth they give. And this is coming from a gamedesigner addicted to game mechanics :/
The end of The Walking Dead fucking got me. I don't cry that often but that whole scene where Lee is teaching Clementine how to survive on her own started to get me and then their final conversation and the choice, "I'll miss you" popped up and I LOST it. Just started bawling.
I understand. That makes a hella lot of sense. I've nothing intelligent enough to add, but I could encourage a bit on the « what can we do ? » part. I'd say, like a good ol' frenchy (lol) : if there's really nothing left to do about it, at least voice your opinion against it (forums, friends, blogs, etc). In this era…
I stand corrected for fascism (even if the word is not reserved for governments). Propaganda on the other hand ... well, let's say it's on a micro level ;)
Tinfoil hats, people!
I agree with the « need to grow up » part, but really, when you're being litterally brainwashed constantly by some propaganda, you have to be exceptionnaly strong & confident in yourself not to fall into becoming a follower. Not everybody has such a strength. That's why there are some laws & social restrictions in…
This is all US medias's fault. Citizens are being constantly stomped with « buy this, do that, love this ». Can you imagine that for a 40 minute TV show, you have twenty minutes of ads ? Twenty minutes of « buy this, do that, love this », each hour ... I'm not living in the US, but sometimes I really feel like…
