Sorry, I should have been more precise : by "ugly" pixels, I mean "the times when most pixellated games were displaying ugly ones" ;) (aka CRT monitors, 16 color palettes, blurry edges, etc)
Maybe it's because I've witnessed and experienced the entire evolution of videogames from huge ugly pixels to glorious & immersive 3D models, but I really can't dive into 8-bit "retro" pixel games anymore, whatever depth they give. And this is coming from a gamedesigner addicted to game mechanics :/
