What you need to understand, is that Grid Girls are your problem. Not womens’ problem. Not F1's problem.

Is there a mythical being/country that is FORCING these women to take the gig?
being a model and getting consistent gigs, is in fact, a career. Taking away those opportunities lessens their ability to engage in said career.
No one is saying they need to stay. They are pointing out that it is analogous to modeling and most of the women probably enjoy their job. Who are any of us to fire them for being, gasp, offended.
So am I wrong because I’m NOT offended by that guy walking around shirtless? Should I be offended because I think he should be offended for being sexualized after he spent god-only-knows how many hours building and maintaining his body so he could be objectively sexy? I don’t really see how this is any different than…
A girl I used to go to HS with is a grid girl for MotoGP (where they have a somewhat actual function as an umbrella holder, I guess). She absolutely loves it.
Why didn’t she simply walk out? Why did she blow him? This is clearly a consensual sexual encounter she later regretted. “I didn’t really want to do it, but I did anyway” is not sexual misconduct.
Exactly. Katie Roiphe was detested by feminists when her stupid Morning After rape book came out. Also, her career began during the Third Wave in the 90s. This is like claiming Ivanka Trump as an example of Millennial Feminism.
Until murky and anonymous accusations that are hastily deleted from social media stop becoming tools used to derail lives, the movement deserves it’s backlash.
Don’t you realize that the internet banning together to fuck up someone’s life is like a Black Mirror episode? I’m indifferent to what he did, but even if I had an issue with it, I wouldn’t be going around yelling about what I personally consider to be morally correct. I hate internet lynch mobs and I hate censorship.
I’ve got that situation. it started off with a split the rent 50% but I pay the utilities because I made a lot more (my idea) but then a year into it she quits her job because they were going to have her transfer to a different store that she didn’t want to work at, gets fired from the next job she gets, totals her…
Can’t help but think about if the situation was reversed. Freeloading girlfriend living with a boyfriend who pays all the bills is pretty close to “normal”. Prevalent societal attitudes say “if you’re getting laid on the reg, stop complaining”.
This is the most ridiculous argument. She signed up to do work for him, and the work involved nudity. Was the nudity in the contract? Did she disagree with the nudity? Is there a problem with nudity in film? This wasn’t like some personal photography, she signed up to work on a film project and the film included…
Outrage is a bubble economy.
This situation (rape and assault) is a glorious goldmine for bloggers who have no time for facts only “content”.
They say something, you write a scathing takedown of their inadequate responses.
If men talked about sexual harassment, Jack Mirken would be the first to complain about mansplaining.
Honestly, I’m not sure what the fuck any of those men would have to say about this issue that is in any way relevant or meaningful.
lol you’re the worst.
I see this two different ways,
