Oh great just what we need, Scalia & Co having a crack at taking away marriage equality.

The headline confused me. I expected this to be a story about a woman who was shopping with her mother at Nordstrom Rack and was the victim of a random bear attack right after pointing out to her mom that NO she did not think the skirt was too short and she is an ADULT.
How is that even remotely polite? Like sorry twenty people in the store, but you'll have to listen to my kid screaming for another 5 minutes because I don't feel like dealing with it right now? Seriously? Way to not give a shit about anyone in your surroundings including your kid.
But if your child really doesn't throw tantrums, then how do you know how you'd react in that situation? Maybe you'd be struck by a bolt of self-awareness and think, "Wow, my discomfort in the cold is not more important than the discomfort of the dozens of shoppers who are being directly inconvenienced by my child,"…
I actually feel sorry for these guys. The more they get into this delusional stuff, the more unlikely it is that they'll ever make those human connections they desperately crave, which means the more attracted they'll be the bitter and delusional stuff, which means it will only be harder to make those human…
When I was in college, my roommate and I went to some Halloween party with a girl from our dorm. The next morning, she comes walking up to the common area still in her eighties-prom outfit. We asked her where she ended up staying the night...she lifts up her dress to reveal her yellow thighs and says "Bart Simpson…
I put on my "don't rape me face" today and had ten men tell me to smile.
"Rita Ora Is Still Trying"
Thank you, grandma. No matter how it turns out, at least someone's looking out for the girls.
I shared two of my stories yesterday, but recalled the one that scared me the most (and I subsequently try to repress). It's quite short:
I was laying in bed asleep (and I guess dreaming?) when I heard our then-12 year old son crying. Our apartment had a "roommate" layout where the bedrooms are at opposite ends, so I…
Holy. Shit. "Look at Me" was so scary I realized at the end I was sitting with my hands covering my mouth, feeling like I was about to hurl. And I'm sitting in a lit office, with my coworkers benignly chatting nearby,
HOLY SHIT, LOOK AT ME??!!! LOOK AT ME?!!!?!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
This is why war rhetoric gets so dangerous in health care. Every disease is not a "battle", every illness is not an enemy waiting to be conquered. I work on issues related to end-of-life care and advance care planning and our culture's obsession with avoiding death drives me crazy. By denying the role of death in…
Get stuffed.
Baby Halloween costume thread! Here's my Mini-Pie as Boo:
I feel so badly for those men that think that they have so little self-control, are so un-intelligent and animalistic, that they are only capable of seeing a woman's body and "reacting to it." They have no self-control. They just simply cannot help it.
It's not the dead person who is bothered by the desecration of their corpse. It is the loved ones among the living. I literally can't imagine if this were one of my daughters. I don't usually react this strongly to sick shit on the internet (or ignorant comments), but this one has gotten to me.
oh, well, as long as you're not too bothered!
I get that veganism is important to you, but don't you think it's pretty fucking weird to champion that cause on this article?
