Ya. That's probably the only series of American engines I can think of that consistently outperformed German engines... But the newish Mustang GT engines has been pretty damn good too...

Different engines... 4.4L turbo V8 against a 6.2 supercharged V8... If BMW went the same displacement, pretty sure they can do the same...

That's not that hard to believe... the BMW N55 engine is rated at like 300 lb ft @ 1400 rpm... (keep in mind that it's a 3.0L single twin scroll turbo)
