are you Ben Stiller in Along Comes Polly?

shipping happened in two waves over the past 2 weekends so it should be on the way

What’s funny is that there are conservatives who won’t vote for Trump because he’s not anti-choice enough

I was confused myself, because the whole thing appeared to unfold over the course of 3 days... seemed unreasonably whirlwindy.

Well in the article it’s 2 kids with his ex-wife (who he was with for 9 years so it’s not like she was on her own the entire time) and then another kid with another woman. And that other woman called him to sever his parental rights because she’s with someone else who wants to adopt her kid. I’m not trying to defend

This is a depressingly foolproof plan.

This has been part of my frustration with the argument that “women just naturally choose low-paying fields!” Well, why are those low-paying fields? They don’t have to be, they just are, because women work in them.

Yeah, and I thought I was relatively current on the show (just haven’t seen the last couple eps) but I don’t remember an abortion at all..

I’m sure the timing was intentional. But the school has gotten out in front of it. The brunch is no longer at Choudhry’s house; it will be at the school, hosted by a badass professor. Student reps spoke to all the admits at the welcome session today, faculty spoke and stood in solidarity, we passed out our demand

As a current student at Boalt... I definitely don’t think this is a reason to not attend. The school is more than its administration. There was a great student action today to welcome admitted students (its Admitted Students Weekend, great timing) and to reclaim the space: http://myberkeleylaw.tumblr.com/

To clarify, he’s not currently teaching any classes, so he won’t actually still be in a position with direct authority over students. He will, however, still be paid - and for doing nothing.

Yes. And so far the response from the administration has been not only underwhelming, but wholly inadequate - both in their initial response to the behavior (10% pay cut) and in their response to the lawsuit and communicating with students. We’re aware this isn’t just about the dean, it’s about a pattern of behavior,

This is not the dean that hired him. Yoo has been here since the early 90s, this dean was hired in 2014. He actually has had a relatively progressive career (haven’t they all), specializing in international constitutional law (basically, establishing constitutions in war-torn countries).

He admitted to the underlying facts which the university determined constituted a violation of their sexual harassment policy (by a preponderance of the evidence).

Also I was just at a student meeting and there will likely be some show among students (I think teal armbands) of who you can talk to about this if you’d like to talk about it.

Institutions gonna institution, you know? Berkeley gets its progressive reputation from its student body, not from its administrators. I don’t think it’s ever been a progressive institution (or had a progressive administration), and it certainly hasn’t been lately.

It will not be at his house, and it will not be hosted by Choudhry. It will be hosted at school by a professor who will address it.

This is interesting... in that it’s not that interesting. Just two people debating substantive policy issues. Where’s the dick-measuring contest? I’m sure this is not the vision of democracy the Founding Fathers had.

Took them 3 days to kill a black woman but 8 months to fire a white dude. Okay.

No. No no no no no no no no no. HELL NO. No.
