This is it. This is what all the homework was leading up to.

I can only speak for myself, but the editing is maybe the number one reason I watched all four hours. If you already know her style and don’t like it, I don’t think this video will change your mind, but I found it entertaining and engrossing.
Has Bowen Yang said anything about Jerry Seinfeld by any chance?
The lore isn’t the problem. Aliens builds on a Alien in a way that makes sense. It also came out like nine or ten years later.
I can already tell this is going to be cinema.
TLJ haters don’t understand the movie. They wanted to see Luke Skywalker, galactic bad ass, restarting the Jedi order like it was and then everything would be awesome.
Not much more.
I saw The Usual Suspects, The Sixth Sense, and Se7en long after the twists/mysteries had been spoiled for me. Being spoiled isn’t a big deal to me; when a mystery/thriller is made well, it doesn’t depend on not knowing the answer to be entertaining.
AV Club got sold to Paste. It and io9 no longer have any connection to each other besides Kinja, which I assume will go away eventually. I bring it up because while AVC shared Jenny Nicholson’s viral 4-hour critical video about the Star Wars hotel, io9 pointedly did not, but has been posting articles about it lately…
Eh… Bad Boys 3 sets up another movie and by the time the Slap happened, it had already made $400 million worldwide on a $90 million budget. I’m not saying the Slap didn’t move BB4 up on Will’s list of priorities, but… yah, it was gonna happen.
I mean, I’d argue that it’s a lot better than kidnapping children.
I didn’t think TLJ was particularly irreverent or dismissive of the franchise’s “legacy” either, but I still think that scene is undercut by Rey saving the books, just like when C-3PO announces he’s taking one last look at his friends in the next movie. It’s like the movies want to have things both ways. They want to…
I think Apple hoped TV+ would just be another way to keep people within the Apple ecosystem. They may have just picked a horrible time to get into original content, since in addition to dealing with inflation and rising interest rates like everyone else, the DOJ is finally taking their walled garden to court (which…
I think that’s the sweet spot FAST platforms like Tubi and Pluto could capitalize on. Why pay for a service, when there’s quality programming for free as long as you watch a few ads? And hey, instead of aimlessly browsing through a catalog, why not try one of these “livestream” channels and see what’s playing. Hey,…
They’re fun. 8/10 would recommend.
I still think they wasted the Bad Boys For Life title on the third movie, which obviously should’ve been called Bad Boys 3-D: Tokyo Drift.
It’s one of the many things about Star Wars where one could infer there’s a good reason for doing that, but the movies contradict that possibility. Maybe without training, a connection to the Force could pose a danger to the user and people around them. But that doesn’t seem to be the case. Luke gets pretty old…
Hindsight is 20/20.
In reading reviews for anything Star Wars, I find that there tends to be a lot of discussion about how much it is or isn’t like what’s come before, and less on the quality (or qualities) of the work itself. It’s not that it isn’t mentioned at all, just that it tends to take a backseat to discussion about the state of…
I wish I could point to the exact line in whatever novel it probably came from, but I only have a hazy recollection of it being spelled out somewhere that no, they weren’t kidnapped. They were taken with their parents’ permission. And if the parents said, “No, you can’t take away our precious child,” the Jedi would…
