Christ put butts on seats

I’ll stick up for DC in that Crisis on Infinite Earths is not the reboot everyone remembers. It merged all of the Earths together and, yes, some characters like Superman and Wonder Woman were rebooted, but the vast majority of titles that weren’t cancelled continued as if nothing more than a mild inconvenience

I would argue that the law in Kansas - real legislation proposed by real lawmakers - is even more bizarre.

Nope!

Meh.

I know, which is why it’s kinda silly to ask if it’s next. Republicans excel at taking the most insignificant of issues and beating the drums on Fox News to paint the left as radicals. Democrats need to do the same.

The merger with AT&T never made any sense and shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

I agree about that post-RotJ period lacking stakes, but I think it’s worth noting that it was already a reboot of the post-RotJ expanded universe we got before. I dunno’, the older I get, the increasingly creatively bankrupt I think reboots are. They often straddle a weird line between “Forget everything that’s come

Under his logic, any conservative judge can now dictate what drugs we can and can’t have in our medicine cabinets.

Why? It’s not like the bad Star Wars stuff would be erased from existence. Rebooting the whole thing to me seems like a cynical way to retread tired ground and regurgitate the same stories we’ve already been told under the guise of “hey we’re going to do it ‘right’ this time.”

It really wasn’t though. I think casting De Niro as the talk show host was a specific homage to King of Comedy, but otherwise the two stories have very little in common.

Ugh, this discourse again.

Calling it a “retread” of King of Comedy is one of the laziest criticisms of Joker that I kept seeing over and over and over again. Yes, they both have mentally-unwell aspiring stand-ups obsessed with a talk show host. That’s not what Joker is about though. If anything, Joker is a retread of Taxi Driver, the Scorsese

Yeah, my lawyer told me to say the same thing too.

It was expected that the Tump indictment would get a lot attention on SNL, but something less expected occurred on “Weekend Update” for April Fools’ Day. At the end of a series of jokes at Tump’s expense, Colin Jost concluded with a reference to himself as a Maga protestor. There was noticeable less laughs than normal

She has her priorities straight.

That’s why I said Leia had admittedly different reasons for the name change than Rey.

I miss the old EU.

That’s why I specified post-RotJ.  I know in the old EU, the fact that she was Vader’s daughter was a plot point in the Timothy Zahn books. I haven’t read anything in the new EU, so I don’t know what’s canon now, but she’s not a real person so I stand by my point.

Some people change their names without hiding who they are. Leia’s last name was Organa, and then Solo, but I don’t think she hid the fact that she was Darth Vader’s daughter post-RotJ. I guess we’ll see how LucasFilm handles Rey because Leia had admittedly different reasons for the name change.
