Actually it is still illegal to travel to Cuba as an American without a Visa. Going through Canada or Mexico is illegal but absolutely no one cares. To board a direct flight from the US would require a Visa, but the application process is kind of a bitch. Flights from the US are also ridiculously expensive i.e. $800

I went in March. Getting there is actually super easy. I flew through Toronto. The flight was $200 and took about 3.5 hrs direct to Cuba. No one cares if you’re American. Once there though it can be a bit more complicated since internet access is severely limited and lots of things like public transport are only

I can’t think of another human being who is a better physical representation of a blue-eyed devil than Bill O’Reilly. He is a profoundly ugly man.

Yeah, I admit as much as I’m enjoying the controversy I didn’t think the video was actually that big of a deal. It’s not like it was leaked footage of her going on racist rant or something truly career destroying. I’m sure she’ll recover just fine from this, but in the meantime I’m reveling in the backlash.

I think the fallout from this has been a long time in the making. She’s overexposed and has annoyed so many people to no end that all she needed was one public slip up to finally get called out. The backlash is much bigger than the feud with Kanye. It’s the result of five albums and eight years worth of backbiting and

I have no interest in Taylor’s music, but I kinda want to see what she comes out with next. I feel like her entire songwriting style is gonna need to be reworked. There’s no way that she’s ever going to get away with those backbiting lyrics now after finally being called out and publicly slammed.

This makes me wonder about the half a dozen entries I put into LiveJournal back in 2003. Does that site even still exist? This could seriously be my undoing if I ever decide to run for public office.

I mean if he were 28 I’d agree, but he’s fucking 14. He’s trying too hard in the same way that a kid his age who’s just discovered how to use a thesaurus is trying too hard. Macklemore tries too hard, but this kid just seems like he’s making all kinds of new connections and wants to share them.

I hope so. Once it gets to the point where every nearly adult has a public record of dumb things they did between the ages of 12-25 hopefully we all can chill out a little about this stuff. Like can you imagine a smear campaign 32 years from now of a presidential candidate based on an angst-ridden blog post they put

I actually think Dave is objectively much better looking. I kinda obsessed over him years back when he was on Scrubs. Never seemed to have any ego or pseudo-intellectual pretension either.

It’s very ignorant because if she’s going to talk at all about respecting women and by extension women’s rights then she has to understand that real change happens through policy and legislation which is either implemented directly through public vote or indirectly through who the public votes to represent us. It

I just can’t understand this. If someone can remain level-headed and in control while someone else is literally pointing a gun in their face, how is it that a cop who’s presumably been through extensive training to handle these types of situations can’t keep it together long enough for a guy to pull out his wallet.

What’s kinda striking is how her daughter knew exactly what to do as well. Can you imagine how many bullets that piece of shit officer would’ve fired into the backseat if her four-year-old lost it? If that guy couldn’t keep it together while dealing with two calm and rational adults how do you think he would’ve

Jesus, can you imagine how many bullets that piece of shit officer would’ve fired into the backseat if her four-year-old lost it? If that guy couldn’t keep it together while dealing two calm and rational adults how do you think he would’ve responded to a panicked child?

The system definitely doesn’t favor rape victims, which ought to be why it’s important to understand what our rights are as victims. That’s why I’m asking these questions and why people should want to think critically about the answers. Not because I’m apologist for rapists.

No doubt that we women can tell the difference, but claiming to feel the difference probably isn’t evidence that holds up in court during a rape trial. I think you’re losing the point here. Please, keep in mind that I’m asking these questions in a LEGAL context and am trying to understand how they are resolved using

I agree that no one should be absolved of complete culpability due to intoxication, but I feel like that’s not really getting at the question I’m asking. If legally we can accept that drunkeness impairs judgement to the point where someone is not deemed capable of consent then to what extent (legally speaking) can the

Nope, that makes complete sense. Just wondering then how do legal standards for mental impairment and culpability fit within this situation? If there’s a point where someone can be considered too drunk to give consent is there also ever a point where someone is considered too drunk to be fully responsible since both

This is a real question, not trolling, but if neither the woman nor man remembers whether there was consent how does a woman make a legal case for rape? It sounds like the issue here is not necessarily whether the person was capable of giving consent, but whether they remember if consent was given. Not quite the same

As someone (female) who used to binge drink on a regular basis I’ve always noticed that no matter how incoherent I was I’ve never done anything outside of my moral character. I used to wonder if maybe that was just me (I don’t really lose control no matter how wasted), but it sounds like that’s most people. Dudes who
