Aida doesn't need Ward to be duplicitous for her; he could've already killed Daisy & Simmons last week & thus ended the threat. Literally the only thing she'd gain by letting them live is seeing Fitz's reactions (to collect emotion data), & she was able to get that from a photograph anyway.
