I'm not necessarily saying that ALL ED is caused by social pressure — I mentioned in my initial comment that people have ED for many, many reasons, and no two people with ED are alike. I just think it's fairly safe to say that the majority of ED cases boil down to a major influence by society pressure.

That's a pretty horrible thing to say about someone who is pressured in to believing that they have to starve themselves in to being skinny just to be well liked. You can blame the victim of society's pressures all you want, but that doesn't make you right.

I found myself (and others with eating disorders) to be more perceptive of feelings as well! I know that I was very, very sensitive to every move others made. Spending 99% of your life comparing yourselves to others will do that to ya! But yes, I agree. Not recognizing faces does not mean "can't understand".
