This isn’t quite true. Unlocking framerate actually can affect loading and there’s actually mods for prominent games that toggle VSync and frames during load times. You transition faster from loading screen to the game itself and that time can add up.

Just patch it in....

“just patch in...” in this case probably means major rewrites of the game engine. that’s just not going to happen for all but the most incredibly supported games. I doubt that the Crash Bandicoot Remastered Trilogy falls into this category.

“and it’s obvious why Montreal got rid of him.”

If you’d just said “I don’t like him because he is black,” you could have saved yourself a lot of words.

Well then why is it that when I read this in a Kentucky accent all I hear is “drrr drr DRRRR drrr Benghazi?”

Look pal, making fun of UK fans is just plain fun. Sorry, but it’s the cost of doing business.

This just proves that is the worst possible response.

I went back and watched the Zaza play again. Yesterday, I was convinced it was dirty. And when you watch it in slow motion, it definitely looks dirty. But when I watched it again at game speed, it didn’t look so bad. He doesn’t stick his foot out in an exaggerated way, like Bowen used to. Instead, he is trying to

Much like how some of my coworkers focus on YouTube personalities and streamers, I think it’s valuable to write about speedrunners. Stories about what gamers are doing help us understand the culture surrounding the media and surrounding specific games.

Good news: I’m hoping to do a proper interview with Greene soon!

I get comments like this a lot when the topic comes up and it always feels reductive. I actually want to take time to address it. The idea that people don’t play through the entire game is really absurd. In order to find tricks, runners and hunters have to play through the game as intended to understand mechanics and

Because a shitty final product invalidates all the great work that did come out of it. Got it!

No, it’s fine to praise good work and effort. It’s people behind the work, and they deserve to hear it.

*conviently forgets the phantom deflection on gonzagas missed three point attempt that allowed them to get the ball back and make a three to give them the lead

“Cost them the game” is a bit much. “Cost them a chance to take a lead and return the ball to UNC for a chance to win” is more like it.

Am I just missing sarcasm here? Otherwise, your math is brutal.

Weird, and I try so hard.
