It´s nightmare fuel but it´s awesome, but it´s nightmare fuel yet still awesome, although absolute nightmare fuel even if essentially unquestionably awesome.

"XXI Century Socialism" should be included there, as an example of a monstruous ideology capable of destroying a wealthy oil country in less than 15 years
"Goodbye, entities", the dying universe said
So I just binge-watched all seven episodes today; holy mother of weird, that´s an insanely good show! The chemistry between Rust and Marty is awesome, even with all the dark aspects of their friendship. And McConaughey´s performance is topnotch
Retrofuturistic nostalgia. Beautifully sad.
While it would make my heart implode with sadness were Capaldi to leave Doctor Who so very soon, I could totally understand him not wanting to commit to such a physically demanding role for too long. However, only one season for Capaldi seems too little, after all the hoopla surrounding his selection. Perhaps two long…
I knew there would be a Radiohead song included here. I love you, io9: but i love you EVEN MORE when you include Radiohead in one of your articles, even if tangentially. Thank you :D
Indeed! They only have to master the eyes. Perhaps what the VFX people have to do is: digitally generate the whole body EXCEPT the eyes; use eye/stare doubles. And voice doubles, with a little voice-manipulation in the mix. Et voilà!
Yeah, hadn´t thought of that! It definitely will help. But, still, it´s damn deprressing that Hoffman died. The creepy thing, for me, is that I was watching Catching Fire the moment his death was announced. I mean, i was literally in the middle of the movie when i found out: when i began watching the movie i was like…
80s USSR is painfully like 2014 Venezuela. I hope it means Chavismo is about to die: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mundo/noticias…
Well, gonna wildly speculate here, but in the case of Hunger Games, I think they got some things in their favor: 1) it´s been 4 years since Tron Legacy (holy jacob!), which means that digital human recreation might be slightly less creepy/uncannyvalleish; 2) the environment Plutarch is gonna be immersed in is "real"…
The first reading is great; but the second reading, specially when you´ve been exposed to complex political scenarios, like the ones in Latin-America, and even more with countries like mine, Venezuela, the power struggle over oil, which might be like a real version of Spice, the reading gets infinitely more…
Well with what´s been going on in my country, Venezuela, for the last 15 years, Chavistas have thoroughly read 1984. Chavismo tries to be a tropical version of Engsoc; you might call it Vensoc or Bolisoc, for that Bolivarian nonsense.
Awwww! So cute! I bet it will tenderly rip your guts, with adorableness! :D
The faces are unsettling. It feels like a deeper uncanny valley, because they´re not supposed to be that human-looking while at the same time being wrongly human-like. my whole brain is crying.
Brundlefly!
RIDICULOUSLY GIGANTIC bipedal stegosaurus
It´s not ridiculous, and it´s not immediately weird, but it´s unsettling for not totally clear reasons. And it´s also an excuse for mixing Radiohead with io9, two of my favorite things ever :D
You made a Zelda reference when discussing Star Wars. You are a great person :D
He´s riding to DoSAC!!!
