I think the issue is being self-centered; I have people in my life who are seemingly incapable of turning the conversation from themselves with a “how are you?” And it probably was all about her and her goals until she had a kid and then became about this extension of herself. So kid or no, she was bound to be

I’ll throw another response onto the pile: I really enjoyed and this surprised me. I’m a fan of Serial (I liked the second season too) but didn’t think the premise (Who drew the dicks) would be that funny, especially over so many episodes — but I got pretty hooked.

They probably have Pygmalion fantasies — or some sort of inferiority complex.

I donate three subjects to your study, all of whom support that statement.

Ben…is Glory?

Cheetos and dumpster fires too

That line in Spotlight "if it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village to abuse one" — it just about broke me. So true.

There seem to be questions as to whether CSX was aware that they were filming there (whether or not the crew had permission to) and whether, if CSX was aware, appropriate safety precautions were followed.

I feel like a broken record but this drives me nuts — the attitude of cut all government services and defund all government agencies…except for the specific ones I need. My neighbors all had Trump signs but they also all wanted govt assistance after Hurricane Sandy. It's so myopic and just mean.

Light treason?

I'm probably not qualified to comment — based on my level of fandom — but even the original characters kind of seem like archetypes to me. So I was kind of joking about Cassian Andor and kind of not. His character seemed different to me compared to the charming, smarmy, yet loyal Han Solo but I didn't detect more or

Oooh — maybe this is his plan: put America on bubble gum cards!

You may be referring Captain Cassian Andor, but he's so much more than Not Han Solo that I can't imagine that's actually the character you're describing.

I read the comments under that video. When will I learn? :(

I dare you to watch Encino Man and then repeat that he's "just a doofus who makes bizarre faces at awards shows." He taught Sean Astin and Pauly Shore the meaning of friendship, for goodness sakes.

Well…Angel did help Buffy kill Caleb.

Yeah, but it's specifically a "worst teachers" article. Is the interweb community so full of dummies that one particular story showing the negative aspects of tenure could fuel any argument? (and why does a collection of "worst teachers" stories have one about a great teacher who dies?? that doesn't seem fair.)

…because of the implication

my takeaway is - avoid holiday politics talk.

I know a farmer who's buying up lots like crazy - he's convinced that when the effects of global climate change are full-force, he'll be living comfortably next to a large supply of fresh water. (clean water? dunno)
