I’ve seen a QB pass to himself a few times in high school games, and it’s certainly been known to happen in the pros (notably, Brett Fah-vruh’s first NFL completion), but not for a touchdown, and certainly not in the playoffs. That was nuts.

I’m so fucking tired of hearing “American soccer is awful”. No, MEN’S American soccer is awful.

Since this is Deadspin, every single comment so far is a joke, so I’m going to be the one person who isn’t sarcastic:

I’d say “Earth Defense Force 2017", except anyone who doesn’t think that game is incredible is a complete idiot.

“There has to be a whistle” is an extremely bad rule; it essentially teaches referees that they should blow more whistles (and, thus, stop the action more) to be safe.

Also, “Pleasantville” now, “Pleasantville” forever, “Pleasantville” always.

Fiona now, Fiona forever, Fiona always.

The travel directly off the inbound pass at the start of that clip is insane. You can’t blame that on there only being two referees (which is also insane), because one of them was right there to watch Marcus Smart do an extended Ickey Shuffle.

So you folks really didn’t watch many speedruns this year, huh?

Holy fuck, all of your music-related choices are so bad that the Juggalo march is by far the best one.

Two things on this list (“American Ninja Warrior” and “Your Name.”) would be in my top five, along with “The Good Place”, which AVC so rightfully named the best show of the year; the National Spelling Bee, which is on my list every year because it is unironically my favorite thing on television; and this Tera Melos

I saw Rickey hit a leadoff triple for the Newark Bears when he was 44 years old, and it’s still one of my favorite memories of being at a baseball game.

As a hardcore seven-year-old card collector in 1992 (I would eventually amass around 30,000 cards, and then forget all but my favorites by 2001), I remember it as when there started to be too many manufacturers, and when most of the cards were very ugly- that honestly might have been the worst year for card aesthetics

Holy fuck, what a good article, Drew. Benoit is such a meathead, its almost impressive.

Holy christ, we’re still getting these idiotic ChiSox articles? Shut the fuck up, Marchman.

Three writers left “The Good Place” off of their lists, and I will never trust the opinions of those three people again.

YES, THANK YOU.

This was one of the stupidest fucking rules- it made it tougher to play if you were good enough to be shown on television, and that’s it. Good riddance.

I’ll take 8 out of 11. Not bad, me.

How can you even appeal that? Not literally, of course- every player has the right to appeal every suspension- but how can anyone possibly think that will be overturned? The fact that he wasn’t ejected was already far more than enough leniency.
