The chain chomp was split into the superior bullet bill and piranha plant.

I feel like the main 3 don't look enough like their characters, particularly when compared to the rest of the cast.

You had Ultima and Might and Magic and Bards Tale, albeit they all ended up action heavy and story light (something I appreciated much more on SNES RPGs like FFIV and VI, SMRPG:LotSS, Chrono Trigger of the mid ninties, etc.)

Maybe it's because they were new at the time. And I'm not saying there aren't a bit of rose colored glasses in the works. I'm talking early 90's here, if there was something optional in any game it was either very quick or something with a lot of thought behind it because of the limits you mentioned.

I've been playing RPGs since I could read, and while there was plenty of thought put into a lot of sidequests back in the day, now it seems like there's just too much filler. Never been much of an open world rpg fan, save Morrowind, and unless they can keep the plot (and side plots) interesting it should get cut.

I've recently come to the conclusion that no RPG should take longer than 40 hours to reach its conclusion. Longer than that and you either retread story you've already said or have filler you can cut.

Also, Papers Please and Bastion/Transistor.

The slowness was part of what I enjoyed (although once you knew what you were doing you could beat it in about 45 minutes) it helped the otherworldly, ethereal feel.

Just a bit too slow and easy, but still one of the better Kirby games. Wish we had a Kirby Super Star direct sequel.

LOOM is still, to this day, my favorite adventure game no one seems to have heard of.

It's not an adventure game but I would love to see a sequel anyways.

GOTY contender for sure.

second article where y'all have said 3D Land instead if 3D World. Wouldn't be a stickler about it but 3D Land is the 3DS game.

Yes it is, barely a negative imo. But I would love to see it used more than just as a different way to press a button.

i think it's mostly because they're kinda gimmicky bits on the gamepad, if they were more fully featured it may make it seem more worthwhile.

Nah, they just need a held item that neutralizes the ability to mega evolve. So long as they don't tie it to neutralizing just megastones.

You should start doing so for completely unrelated topics, and then finally finish with a few inappropriate ones.

Playing smash bros and fantasy life mostly.

This has been reportef since day 1...

Got Falco after beating classic mode on difficulty 3.
