As a former Hawai’i resident, I wanna say with all the authority I can muster skip the convertible, especially if you are from Ohio. You’ll burn to a crisp in about 2 mins. The only people who drive convertibles are tourists on day 1 and most of them look like they have sun stroke. Taco is the way to go or a minivan

These are all terrible suggestions.

And if that Jeep Patriot is one with automatic and AWD, you may want to consider selling it

You drive a rusty, 16 year old Accord and your wife drives a Jeep Patriot. While I admire your financial maturity in owning yawn-inducing crap cans until they fall apart, driving interesting non-generic cars doesn’t seem to run in your veins.

Buy an EV. You won’t be taking any long road trips, Hawaii is flush with renewable energy, and gas is hella expensive.

You say barn door, I say interesting design choice that has become iconic (although less iconic now that the Z belongs in hospice with no next-of-kin to notify). I’ve shaved and filled and repainted a lot of things on mine - rear fender antenna, rear badges, rear wiper - but the door handles stay. Pardon my fat thumb.

I’d say it’s a 50/50% chance at best. Yeah, there are a lot of rednecks looking for a fight, but many of them wouldn’t have a clue what to do if actually confronted.

Is this a made up problem? Other than the only actual picture of one event, how prevalent is this?

Or T’aint

Then it would be called the Taycan’t.

If the new Porche isn’t any good, will it be nicknamed the Trashcan?

as a subaru owner and lover i hate that you are right here.

Yeah, you know they’re getting sloppy when their performance car has less power than a standard V6 Camry.

How many social credit system offenses did you rack up? Or were you a good communist?

Despite their size, sometimes it is hard to find your car...

In the early 90s I played around with CJs. Running and driving, they were worth about $1500 and they all had some forms of rust. Fortunately, you could buy practically every single part through JC Whitney. I would replace the rusty panels and paint them in the booth at my dad’s garage. Fix all the broken heater

The article says fewer than 30k were ever made, and they’re so rare here that not only are none for sale in my local CL, but CL isn’t finding any in neighboring areas either.

That was more or less my thinking as well.

Solid NP. If I were in the market for one this would get top consideration. CJ7s in this shape are easily 10k+ and those are much more common. That 4.2 will run forever with proper maintenance, even if it will never get you anywhere quickly.
