Same for uncharted. Uncharted 4 had no monsters while the first three games had some level of supernatural science to them. Uncharted 1 had nazi wendigoes, 2 had mutated warriors and 3 had hallucinogenic genies.

Yea, basically we lost the adventurer aspect of it. Felt more like you’re just an adventurer who happens to be there like more of  native DnD experience instead of you being the main character of a heroic epic.

Age of empires 2 got this right. The chinese in that game don’t have samurais. They have cho-ku-nos and rocketry.
