I’ll go further. Sense and Sensibility is where HG’s aw-shucks bumbling shtick reached parody proportions. Eleonore, run away! Alan Rickman is the absolute quintessence of romantic devotion. Before Rickman it was Clark Gable as Rhett Butler.

Do you worry in public?
They are both shitty things to say.
All the man she needs NOW. In the past...
“I am not very good at expressing myself in a simple way so it can create misunderstandings and I hate that.”
Maleficent?
We are still waiting for “equal opportunity evil.” Currently, the vast majority of violent crimes of all types are committed by boys/men. But girls/women are slowly catching up! Do what you can to promote “equal opportunity evil”: buy your daughter a gun today!
I remember Angelina saying Mr. and Mrs. Smith was an important movie for their kids to see because she and Brad fell in love during filming. And Jennifer A. told the press that that was TMI for her. She had guessed but didn’t want to read it in the papers.
Holy double-take Batman!!
Sorry hon, this French lady didn’t invent fat jokes either. As a wise woman once said, “Men are afraid women will laugh at them....”
This was not shady. It could not have been more obvious and graceless.
Whaaaaat are you talking about?
Everywhere. That is the whole joke. There is literally nothing else.
But she did not make a joke showing the power dynamic between women and men at the expense of men. She made a joke showing the power dynamic between thin people and fat people at the expense of fat people, She punched down. Big time.
This is not punching up. They are both privaledged, first-world white people. Their only differences are their genders and weights. If she had made fun of him for being a man that would have been punching up. But she made fun of him for being fat. That is punching down.
I don’t know anything about her as a person but that quote sounds like something Umbridge would say.
Many OBGYNs have said that most midwives, pizza-delivery-guys and intelligent ten-year-olds can get the baby out IF there are no complications. If there are complications you’ll want a doctor and a hospital.
Ten bad jokes?
“His music isn’t 100% gross.” I laughed. Is this shade? Is his music 99% gross?
In fancy houses (not mine) there are two shower-heads so that both persons can stand under the water. I am not sure how that works as an analogy (or metaphor?).
