Nearly every movie on his list made more than 2.5x, and Far From Home made like 5x its budget.

It’s such a fundamental aspect of modern capitalism that people refuse to believe things have a shelf life, and that no matter how popular or god forbid profitable something is, one day, even if everything goes perfectly to plan, that thing will stop being both. It’s happened in broad public view thousands of times…
They did put Star Wars on a break, but that was after they ran it into the ground. Marvel should have taken a break after Endgame, going out on a high note. Of course, there’s no way Disney would let that happen, because plutocrats gonna plutocrat.
Was there anything new except some connected people adding some insider opinions?
I think I could’ve chalked that up to all the stronger inter-relationships between all the characters that happened off-screen. Nebula was quite friendly with everyone but especially Peter, Drax and Mantis had forged a very strong relationship, everyone was acting more familial and emotional regarding Rocket’s fate.
I don’t think the parent company that was eager to run Star Wars movies into the ground as fast as possible is interested in letting Marvel take a break.
The only movie I can think of that came out recently that is really connected to a TV show was the newest Dr Strange one and you basically get all the background you need in the movie anyhow. The new Ant Man is the third one, so it would have been good to watch the first two, but no TV viewing was required. Sure, Kang…
“If you miss one or two, you’re behind, and it isn’t worth watching something new until you’ve caught up, but eventually you’re so far behind that catching up or keeping up feels like a chore.”
EXACTLY. What exactly was she envisioning here? In what universe does she think Cersei was a match for Arya in any way? The only thing I can think is that she would have put on her pitiful face and cried and *maybe* gotten Arya to feel sorry for her (not likely, but Arya did have a heart), and then *maybe* she could…
It made sense when Oberyn lost against the Mountain after being too cocky - two trained fighters with different but equally excellent skills.
I dunno, Arya does some pretty cruel shit for cruelty’s sake later on. She could want to toy with her prey, and get just overconfident enough to let Cersei get a single hit in before it’s over.
Non-combatant vs. elite assassin would not a great climactic moment make.
To be fair, they would have had to come up with some pretty convoluted reasoning how that battle would have lasted longer than... a second.
70 slides?!
I for one cannot wait for the “era” era to be over with. It’s beyond overused.
Points to whomever put together the lead photo--legit made me laugh
The problem is, and has always been, that Lindsey is 100% ego.
This review is rough to read. I reread this “sentence” five times before moving on:
she’s someone all the characters keep talking about before their grand entrance, then they come out shrouded in darkness with a bait and switch until the famous face appears from the shadows
“Agatha Christie adaptations continue to prove popular in several mediums”.
