I read it as the subs should’ve at least said singing in Spanish instead of non-English.
MURDER DURDER!
I get the sense that if Byrne gave the go-ahead for a reunion, Chris would still be first in line to join up. He clearly loves the work they did. Tina, on the other hand... well, I’ve never seen someone so uncomfortable as she was during the QA.
I never understood the idea that Kate Winslet isn’t crazy attractive. Even in Mare of Easttown they tried really hard to make her look kind of old, tired and rough looking, but a bunch of times it would be like “nope it’s still Kate Winslet and still super hot”.
Bitter assholes who feel entitled to women’s bodies and mad when they can’t control them.
Just neckbeard mouth breathers. She wasn’t rail thin but it’s not like she wasn’t also stunningly beautiful
I’m pretty sure that the problem is people seem more likely to watch and enjoy a movie about a man who is supposed to be unlikable than a movie about a woman who is supposed to be unlikable.
The problem is that it’s okay for men to be unlikeable, to the point that the “flawed male antihero” (read: this guy’s a jerk) has become a major cliche.
Just came in here to say the same thing— the audio restoration is the bigger story here than any improvements to the video. If anything, parts of it are actually grainer than I remember it being— especially the first few songs before the lights go out. Once the fuller band starts assembling on a darker stage, that’s…
I’m just here to say this new 4K restoration is pure bliss. Jerry Harrison did an amazing job with the sound. Night and day difference form the VHS dubbed copy I had growing up.
Joe_Stammer literally knowing more about the event than the writer of the article. Bravo, AV Club!
Find someone who loves you as much as Chris Frantz hates David Byrne.
James Brown. James Brown.
It’s much harder to prove a negative than a positive. That’s basically what they had to do in this case.
Oh, not too long. I give 3-4 days, tops.
Probably not on this article, because then they have to acknowledge that Ashton Kutcher was “groomed” by a much older woman as well.
“It is a funny movie with engaging performances”
Greta Gerwig could show up as a comedically exaggerated version of herself, Ronan could constantly explain to people how her name is pronounced, she could get into absurd misunderstandings that make her look bad even though she didn’t really mean to do anything bad, Susie Essman can call her a “bald, four-eyed fuck”…
Saoirse as Jerry, Greta Gerwig as George, Jane Lynch as Kramer, Timothee Chalomet as Elaine. Seinfeld reboot, sorted.
