I now wonder how well WW84 would’ve done in a theater instead of being banished to HboMax at the height of the pandemic. Me and my wife were all set to go see it when it was going to come out just based on the goodwill of the first 90% of the first movie. ( the last 10% with the Ares fight scene is just awful and

I’m okay with just forgetting about Crystal Skull much the same way I look at Star Wars having ended at TLJ.

Yeah, that’s his dream “one week” job...

Disagree, it’s not even close. This is far more hilarious for several reasons.

Please kindly explain what about this movie, which is not out yet and you haven’t seen, is pandering.

I think you replied from the wrong account, Mr. Obviously The Same Person I Replied To. The fact that you think having a woman in a movie who is maybe important as something other than a love interest is “MESSAGE pandering” says everything about your level of discernment that I need to hear.

This is a truly terrible take. You’re aware that most movies aren’t made because fans specifically called for a certain plot to be made, and the filmmakers just do it, right? That’s idiotic. And PWB is incredibly likeable in everything I’ve ever seen her in. Sorry your action heroes can only ever be men. Must be a sad

Troll says what?

That’s totally fair, but it’s frustrating to see people like AV Club pretend like this is so anomalous while trying to act like entertainment experts.

If we’re going to pretend to be an entertainment site could we at least actually report what they’ve done instead of quoting the Sun and random people who did not work with them.

No, they’d rather quote a bunch of tabloids.

They always look as you expect.

Yup. Lots of pending comments here lamenting the loss of the 1st Amendment for white folks because harassment is still illegal and still not protected by it.

I don’t really have a good measure of how many people even know who Ezra Miller is, let alone the news stories. When I have brought up the name in conversation I just get blank stares. “Who? Don’t know.”

This being in tandem with Spotify is definitely not a good look (though I’m not exactly outraged that someone ripped off a company which desperately wanted to get in and stay in the Joe Rogan business).

I doubt that Miller’s personal life affected this film much (maybe some, but not a significant amount). Cruise is a Scientologist and his films still do well. The bigger issue to me is that DCEU failed dramatically to make their universe into anything and they are now reaping the fruits of that mismanagement.

Stopped reading at “The Sun”.

Maybe stop pushing spinoffs to a movie most people didn’t like to begin with?

With all the issues with Miller, plus the insane amount of hype they tried to generate to overcome the public opinion of the star of the movie, the movie needed to be INCREDIBLE. It’s not. It’s fine. I didn’t think it was horrible, but it was definitely not great. That’s not even close to good enough in these

I appreciate the defense and I actually agree with the premise of an ideological battle between Jones’ preservation of the past and a nuclear age of advancement that largely tosses aside that past. That would have worked.
