He lost his dad in 9/11 (firefighter). That traumatized him, as it would any child. Mix that with the drug use he had to help numb the pain, and of course he’s a mess. I wouldn’t exactly call this his con from day one to be famous and have people like him. 

And also, you don’t have to pity him in order to not criticize him for getting therapy.

I absolutely adore people who try to find ways to demonize or mock therapy... because it’s abundantly clear that looking inward and working to be healthier is such a terrifying prospect that even seeing others do it causes them to panic and start lashing out.
