Imagine defending Ricky Gervais by declaring him not smug. LOL.

It’s so easy not to say something. Even in a live conversation, it’s easy not to say something. It’s waaaaaaaay easier to not say something on Twitter. How are so many people with so much to lose so bad at not saying something all the time?!?!?

It’s so bizarre that people are this threatened by the idea that beauty comes in all flavors.  If you’re not personally interested, move along!  No one is coming to your house to force you to love a certain way, except for conservatives.  What a boring world we would live in if everyone enjoyed exactly the same thing.

No public apology in the history of public apologies has ever been "acceptable".

I save my frustration, disappointment, and outright anger for those who personally affect me, not celebrities and online commenters. That has been my point in nearly every post I make here.

Who needs an apology though? It’s obvious he’s only doing it to placate the people who still give a shit about this 11 years later. This obsession with people apologizing the right way (which let’s face it, never happens because the people offended by this don’t want to accept an apology however nice it is, or to ever

Not at all defending NPH here because he seems like a creep and that “cake” is revolting in every way, but I do remember there being a absolutely crazy number of people dressed as Amy Winehouse zombies that Halloween with needles sticking out of their arms and so on. There was a real disrespect for her very shortly

Tours this scale are basically small corporations that keep dozens of people employed, if not more. Yes, it absolutely does take guts to rock that boat when you know it’s putting people’s livelihoods on the line, especially a crew that you care about.

It’s because we live in a grey world, and that’s hard for a LOT of people. Much easier to reduce everything down into easily-digestible black/white dichotomies. Like for instance, your post.

I don’t see anyone defending NPH, it’s that this comes up every few years (the last time was for the Lemony snicket Netflix series) for ??? reasons. Is it because the “Comedians Getting Slapped” thing is played out, or society needs to pretend that it isn’t misogynist after the way it’s treating Amber Heard (I think

I literally cannot, in any shape or fashion, imagine caring about a cake that one random celeb had made that mocked another random celeb from ten years ago.

Even if he did say something to Grohl, the answer could have been “I hear you man, we’ll figure something out, just let us get through this stretch” without realizing the guy was this close to wit’s end. Grohl obviously loves performing so much it may not have occurred to him that Hawkins no longer felt the same way.

I don’t think this makes anyone look like an asshole. Even if he did have a heart-to-heart with Grohl, Hawkins is his own man and makes his own decisions. If he didn’t want to tour, he wouldn’t tour. For all we know, maybe they agreed after this tour that things were going to change?

Holy shit. Every time I think the AV Club’s quality has hit rock bottom, I see something like this.

“...he may of collapsed...”    Something’s wrong here.

Irreplaceable 60 year old fabric........

Growing up with Garbage Pail Kids, and Mad magazine and then moving onto the John Waters and punk rock, I have to chuckle at the thought of people today clutching their pearls and getting the vapors over an Amy Whinhouse joke.

Hon, this has made the rounds numerous times, and the only reason it’s been made a thing is because people are angry and rather than vent to the people who cause the problems (politicians and the people who elect them) we get angry at celebrities.

No, it’s still not a problem as Marc decided on mercy at the behest of Steven and Layla. In the end, they reject Khonshu’s justice just as they reject Ammit’s justice. I get what you’re saying, that Harrow’s previous actions deserve death just as much as his future actions, but the decision to spare his life was made,

The problem with that logic is that Ammit already killed people, including the avatars of other gods. Harrow killed a lot of people in the name of whatever offenses that might be committed at a later date. It would be both retribution for these killings and preventative, as more would surely happen again if they were
