@blackchair: What brand bag do you have? Timbuk2 bags have laptop versions, and Chrome bags have a laptop sleeve that fits onto their buckle bags. Personally I would go with one of those, messenger bags work quite well for carrying small loads.

I think this must be for people who get confused by beer bottles that don't have a twist off cap, and who lack the ability to open said bottle

I laughed at this, its really one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Peoples reactions as well have been amazingly amusing. Its a crazy dude with a hairdryer, I wish he lived near me, I would talk to this guy all the time.

It depends on the environment: If its loud around me I listen to music that I can listen to loud to drown out the surrounding noise. If its quiet then I listen to more mellow music.

I would also take a voltage converter if going out of the country, its essential if you have rechargeable batteries, without one you're screwed.
