Actually, I have driven on the Autobahn. I did European Delivery on my last BMW, and will be doing it again this summer. Outside of the cities, plenty of open spaces to run. Especially on Sundays. And plenty of cars going very fast indeed.

As early first-gen Audi TT owners found out the hard way. Though the fix was not a popup, the little spoiler that Audi tacked on under recall kept them on the road at Autobahn speeds.

I have and love a P38 Rangie, but the lust for an old 3dr stickshift Classic as in the picture at the top of the post grows stronger by the year.

My P38 Range Rover has a massive separate ladder frame, live axles at both ends, and AWD with a (very) low range 2spd transfer case. It has approach, departure, and breakover angles a stock Jeep Wrangler Limited wishes it had. All of which are also true for Range Rover Classics. How is that not a truck?

Recent history is that there is nothing to buy. It's a chicken and egg situation. The SUV fad is mostly over, and now that CUVs are ubiquitous it is time for tastes to change again. The bigger issue is that the automakers LOVE that they can sell a CUV (or these jacked-up wagons) for $5K more than the sedan it shares…

Depends on how much it costs. For me, where I am, comp/collision on my old Range Rover is <$200/yr, with Comp being $150 of it. So why would I not at that price? If it is $1000/yr then that is a different story.
