I use the middle joint of my middle finger as a measure for 1 inch. And the distance of finger tip to finger of your out stretched arms should be very close to your height.

We had one built for our kitchen. The guy used drawer tracks which he fastened to the floor before we actually put the cabinet on the tracks. It's pretty stable and won't roll out any farther than the tracks allow which means that you can't pull it out too far and have it tip over.

We eat the Butterball brand of turkey bacon that I microwave between 4 sheets of paper towels with 6-7 slices per cooking for about 5-6 minutes. Generally gets the bacon evenly crisp.

wow, 3 out of 4 comments here are spam

"Yeah, the books have covers so folks can se what you're reading"....

Regarding GPS, you make it sound like it's all or nothing. It is possible to use both GPS and a paper map. I carry multiple state maps in my truck and on my motorcycle and often pull them out to see where I want to go and how to get there. But I'll pull out the phone with GPS to see where I am in the moment to help

Ain't gonna happen where I work. The US Gubbmint likes being able to have an email trail of discussions that remain for years. I've been FOIA'd twice in 16 years just because no matter how distant or tangential to the actual FOIA, I did or said something that was part of the larger discussion. Besides, I need to be

I keep saying, once you take care of your own, turn to the neighborhood you live in.

Weell, sheeyit far, Beaudreax. This sounds like the Lake Peigneur fiasco back in 2008. Slurp! There went the lake down the drain.

This and the score from Sunshine....

My favorite soundtrack Zimmer did is Blackhawk Down.

I use the Norse pantheon to name the machines and networks. Asgaard is the primary computer with Bifrost and Yggdrassil as the wifi connections.

Considering Asterix was originally written in French, a lot of the translating to English to make the puns work was really well done.

Coffee shop ambience? No. Too much random voices, clatter, irregular noise, people moving around, etc. I can't even begin to work in that kind of setting. Non vocal ambient music or classical music is what works for me.

For two PINs that I need to carry with me for brain fart moments, I have a small piece of paper with a 13 x 7 matrix of random numbers printed on it. In the matrix are the PINs.

(ahem...) ..."pull of the atmosphere on objects" ?

I go to my local health food store which has it's own peanut butter grinder. Fresh ground PB that gets eaten before it even has time to separate. I've gotten to where I can taste the difference in the peanut batch that gets put in the grinder that week.

Peanut butter on a sesame bagel is a breakfast staple at my house.

I'd keep 1 or 2 bottles that way and the rest in sand bags. The sandbags lie flatter and can conform to the space available if they are not overfilled. However, in the back end of my pickup, I just throw in a pile of firewood since I can .

I love Sufjan. This song, however, I don't like. No, sir, don't like it.
