You can change source material while still staying true to its spirit.
You also seem to be missing is that there's considerable dissonance in tone within the show itself. Its first season was more or less a serious spy drama. Subsequent seasons became exponentially more comedic until it was "Batman"-levels of camp.
The

Well, it IS a really good episode….

I'm wondering when episodic procedurals will get back in vogue. These days, even critics who like procedurals are compelled to act apologetic about the episodic elements… see: most reviews of Season 1 of "Hannbal" (and if it's true that the self-contained cases were a compromise Bryan Fuller has to make to get his

You can tell it's true because it's a meme!

"Archer Vice" is definite proof that complete serialization is NEVER guaranteed to make a show better. Some shows (more than most people will admit) simply work better when the writers are allowed to experiment and be creative with self-contained episodes.

How could I have forgotten the opening sequence of "Revenge of the Fallen"? That was terrible, morally speaking. At least that one is justifiable in that the Deceptions are unambiguously evil….

Haven't seen "Age of Extinction", but the first time I really noticed how fucked up the morality of those movies was when Optimus Prime murdered Megatron in cold blood at the end of "Dark of the Moon"… RIGHT AFTER Megatron helped him defeat Sentinel Prime. Now he does the same thing to a HUMAN!?!

2. And they're in completely different venues.

Stephen Root is going to be playing J. Edgar Hoover in the movie.

Yeah, he is shown deliberately tormenting an orphan to tears (which he mixes into his martinis) and then giving him a chocolate afterwards.

Good call! McShane and Michael Green worked well together on "Kings", too!

Yeah… it happens right after Shadow realizes who he really is:

Apparently Neil Gaiman has also said he pictured Shadow as having Dwayne Johnson's sort of look. Too bad he's busy with "Ballers" (and… you know… being a movie star)

SWAT Kats… that was good stuff.

I like the first season. They were definitely still figuring things out, but the imagination and sense of fun still holds up. "Talent Night" in particular is one of my favorite episodes of the show.

Not to mention they also worked as foils to Dot (intense planning) and Bob (improvisation). The writing on that show was so good… It's definitely a show where you appreciate it more as you get older.

I like the Zero series a lot, but if there's any Mega Man series that deserves an anime adaptation, it's Legends.

"(unless it’s an inexpressive forehead)"

Odds on Cooper getting a Best Guest Actor Emmy nomination simply for showing up?

I absolutely love "ReBoot" and have been following hoping for a revival of the show for years, but that description does NOT inspire a whole lot of confidence.
