I've tried Opera off-and-on over the many years, never became a fan. I was a solid IE fan up through IE 6, until Firefox 2 finally started delivering a better experience, and I've not looked back. Also flirted with the various WebKit browsers, again, not really impressed.

In the case of the particular retailer that you linked to, the article clearly explains that the reason this scummy reseller's link is so highly ranked isn't because people are linking to the URL, it's because they're discussing the company's name and products, generating more buzz and inadvertently driving up the

If a site is fraudulent, or if it violates a search engine's policies, it's going to be taken down, anyhow. Otherwise, for those "awful trolling sites", you're still contributing to the trolling by giving them any traffic at all. Again, if it's awful enough that you feel the need to use measures to avoid detection,

If it's NOT worth visiting, then why promote a tool to where you can visit it? Would it NOT be better to ignore it completely?

If it's a crappy website, why are you visiting it? If a website is worth visiting, then shouldn't it naturally rank higher in search engines that are delivering content that you want to see?

99% of the time, I don't answer the phone, even if I know who it is. If it's vitally important, they'll keep trying to call. If it's not, they'll leave a message and let me know why they called, or they won't.

Telephone services are cheap enough that this won't put a dent into their budgets.

Where would we be? We would literally be in Hell! ;-)

Thank you. There are many times in my life that I could have chosen to become a telemarketer. After thoroughly researching who I would be working for and what I would be doing, I decided to continue looking for a different job. We always have a choice available, it's just a question of what choices are we willing to

I tried this for a few years, doesn't work. If you're not getting calls, you're just lucky.

GOOG-411, US Government Search and Google Buzz were quite popular when they were cut off. They shut down Meebo almost as soon as they bought them, and iGoogle will be shut down in November.

Sorry, Rob, it's still a legitimate complaint. Google's propensity to axe projects is becoming nearly as bad as Yahoo.

Over the last few months I've come upon more and more instances where Google Translate has failed to translate documents in Spanish, German and Russian. I've permanently switched over to Bing Translate.

Another idea I've not seen, a slide-in dock for your MP3/MP4 player with replaceable connector tips so you can easily transfer files without cables or other docks cluttering your desk? Not seen one in production, but surely can't be that hard to make and run into an unused USB or FireWire port on your motherboard.

OOH! Great place to store my OS CDs, so i don't keep losing them! Great find!

That would actually be a great option for me, to just have a simple micro PC to run Skype and a few audio apps for live podcasts.

I understand most of the complaints against the projector, but I'm surprised nobody has though of suggesting a portable projection screen that rolls up and stores out of the way, in a corner, or even hang it off some wall space by the handle?

Install a Murphy bed (pulls out from the wall) with a table or desk that folds underneath it, build your storage you need for your tools and supplies around it.

This is one of my favorite space hacks!

Sure, this is a "weird law", until somebody who doesn't move over kills a cop helping a stranded motorist.
