Well I'm a scientist and to be honest... I am pure evil!

"We as a people inherently trust science and that means we believe scientists."
In San Antonio I once stabbed a man, just to watch him bleed.
I can agree with you, however I would go with French Doors. Also I think I would have an issue with the bed being right up against the glass sliding doors. I would guess that with any movement they would rattle a lot in the night.
It looks like this person already framed out the closet doors, its not much different to just extend the studs to make an actual wall.
If you go through the trouble of framing out the sliding doors, it would probably be easier and cheaper to just frame a wall, hang drywall, add a cheap hollow-core door and make an actual room. It would also be more soundproof and more private.
It looks like the door to the kitchen is right off the dinning area. It might be weird to walk through your bedroom every time you have to go to the kitchen.
This will give you a pretty good start:
Stan, I have to say you make a great point and have a well stated comment. I, like most, aren't a huge fan of insurance companies. However its good to know that there are a few good apples behind those huge phone trees we try and get through.
The dog that normally uses it.
This is simply not true. PMI is a temporary thing until you own 20% equity in the house. I bought my house last February as a short sale in a great neighborhood, I put down 4% and have PMI. I spent 10k in renovations and last month it re-appraised for 90k over what I bought it for (310k to 400k), I refinanced and…
This is actually quite common. I myself have been very wary of hiring people that are "over qualified". It is sometimes counter intuitive to exclude those with a master's when all you want is a bachelors, but the two main areas of concern are expected income (typically people with higher education want to be…
I'm sorry you feel that way. Which comment in particular? What about the comment? I'm stating an opinion and the way I choose to conduct hiring. If you have something constructive to say please let me know.
This is a great point, and one I would like to highlight. Knowing someone, anyone is a huge advantage. I have interviewed people who were friends of the family to one of our cleaning personnel. It just so happened that this personnel cleaned our lab after hours and approached me after i stayed late one night. It ended…
I assure you, someone who graduated with a 1.7 gpa from Phoenix vs a Stanford grad do not have an equal shot at the same position. I will then pose a question in rebuttal. If you need to sift through 100 applicants and only have 2 hours to do so what will you use as a success/failure criteria. You sound like you have…
I did not post this to offend, merely offer my experience. I am in the Cosmetic Industry and I started out as an R&D Chemist formulating skin care cosmetics. I am currently a Director for a smaller cosmetic company and I am in charge of product development. This encompasses both formulating (chemistry) and product…
I think one thing that many people overlook is the fact that a college education means more to employers than just a piece of paper with your name on it. When I am hiring I automatically kick out every new applicant without a college degree. This is literally my first area of cutting, it often helps me cut out 50% of…
I agree completely. I would further argue that this should be the case with other types of insurance as well (HEALTH INSURANCE). If you are a smoker or are overweight you should be charged more than someone who is a non-smoke or is at a healthy weight.
Im sorry but any place you work where you make close to minimum wage is a "Job" NOT a "Career".
I'm a Chemist and I am working hard to make your position obsolete. As we prescribe more and more medication to treat mental disorders (especially in children) I feel that our future will put more emphasis on treatment vs counselling.
