Why do bad prices happen to good cars?
Why do bad prices happen to good cars?
Just plain no. But plus several thousand to Rob for the Repo Man reference!
I bought a Mercedes wagon once with 268K miles on it for $2500. I figured I got full value out of the car in the first year, and every mile beyond 300K was gravy. Car ran great until my son ran it into the back of a utility truck. Then after some work involving comealongs and a massive cement support post, it ran…
Crap! It's in Denver, just 20 minutes from me! My wife may become highly irritated.
I like it, and I want it. I really, really do. In its current state, I think it’s worth around $10K, so $3.5K less than he’s asking. Fix the interior before asking that price. And I really hope someone does fix it up. This car deserves to be restored and DRIVEN!
It drives us to drink red rum!
Why do people stretch skinny tires over fat wheels?
They drive us to drink red rum!
Decades ago, we had two VW bugs and used both to keep one running. Same with our two Corvairs, our two Dodge trucks, and our three mid ‘70s Volvos.
Even $3K is a heckuva good price for a 400E in good shape.
93 was the year they introduced the biodegradable wiring harness.
Oh Jeet Swesus yes!
I think the hate comes from it looking like it should be a better car than it was. Essentially it was a base Neon in the skin of a retro-rod. One disappointed review described it as a “sheep in wolf’s clothing”
It may be a full-assed customization (as opposed to half-), but the Pinninfarina-penned GT body was beautiful, making this car feel a little like farting in the Sistine Chapel. Sacrilege!
I think the main thing keeping #VanLife going is the disparity between the increase in the cost of housing and the lack of increase in real wages.
My children have the same memory.
You win the internet today.
Dammit, I want this car. I prefer a stick, but even more I prefer a car my wife can drive (and that will help with the argument over spending $20K when we already have a perfectly functional Subaru).
I saw a BMW Z3+M-Coupe stretch limo some decades back that looked pretty fun to drive.
I WANT THAT (whatever the heck it is)!
