It's a damn good thing I'm nowhere near Canada, or I'd be arguing with my wife about how to fit this car into our budget.

I watched that episode. I believe the idea was to get it running for the length of the show. Anything else would just be gravy. They did next to no work on the engine after verifying it wou run and figuring out how to get fuel to it.
COTD
I love these, and would gladly pay almost 15K for it. However, there are enough W124 wonks out there who know the history that someone is very likely to pay the 40Large and think he got a steal. No accounting for decision making skills but still a likely NP.
I doubt quirkier.
As the comments I think are demonstrating, Saab people are Saab people. Is there a brand with greater (or quirkier) loyalty?
You are a braver man than I! I had to replace the fabric on my Mercedes convertible and replace a leaking rear latch piston. 1. I had no faith in my ability to remount the glass window without destroying the window heater. 2. I had no faith in my ability to get the job done without denting or scraping something else.…
That’s good cardio!
I’ve owned two of these, an 89 and a 94. The 89 still ran well at 400000 miles when I sold it. I donated the 94 to the local NPR station as scrap at 169000 miles. The difference? Maintenance history!
Yes, Show, don't tell!
By reliable I mean more reliable than a ‘73 VW Thing in its second decade maintained by the owner’s college buddy from ceramics class.
Yes, VW needs to reintroduce The Thing!
To be honest, The only Murano I’ve driven was a 2004, and it had been rode hard and put up wet, so not a good indication.
If you want a FBUgly car (Fun But Ugly), you could do worse. You could spend twice as much on a Range Rover Evoque Cabriolet and then half as much every year in maintenance. Coming from Nissan, there’s a chance this could actually be reliable, making it a FARBSUgly car (Fun And Reliable But Still Ugly).
It is an interesting car for the history of European Ford development. Interesting is not worth $5K to me, but I don’t run a museum dedicated to ordinary everyday cars of the world. If anyone in the world does run such a museum, there’s the customer for this car.
Did OK GO ever film a music video using a Ford Fiesta as musical instrument?
I. Want. This. Car.
Im still waiting for mine.
Yes, ordinarily someone else’s project is a total crapshoot, but not this one.
I too love the wrap. My fear is that people would expect me to have genuine track stories to go along with it.
