My Launch day 2013 PS4 did die in October 2014 because the fan quit working. Altneratively my Wife’s 2014 Destiny PS4 has no issues like what you posted in 6 years of daily use.

I would hope that as PCIe 4.0 becomes more common on computers, that by 2022-23 the prices for these drives come down a lot. IDK if Xbox will drop the price of their expansion add on that significantly.

It seems pretty standard yes. Same as Switch, and all things considered, aside from a slightly later console reveal and price reveal, more or less the same as PS4 in 2013 (as in teardowns and more hands on closer to launch)

We very poor growing up and I got a 64/PS1 years later, but all PS2 gen I didn’t play games much until I got an Xbox as a gift in 2004, because I just didn’t think I could afford it.

Calling the launch line up shallow is weird. It has Spider Man MM, Demon Souls, Bugsnax (holiday), Assassin’s Creed, Yakuza, Cyberpunk (week after), COD, Sackboy’s Adventure, Astro’s Playroom, Destruction All Stars, and of course a slew of sports games and upgrades to games like Watch Dogs Legion and others.

You cannot ignore the difference between acquiring a single game development studio, and a game publisher.

This is a weird thing to say considering Sony was the first to bring PS Now to PC (before GP), has and will continue bringing older exclusives to PC (Horizon and Death Stranding), and was going to let Deathloop/Ghostwire/potentially Demon Souls and FF16 go to PC as well. wow. major bummer that switch, ps owners won’t get those games anymore. as someone who owns all the consoles and plans on owning all next gen consoles, this is awful and super disappointing. multiplatform IPs like this should stay multiplatform.

This another reason why we will always need physical retail games. You can buy this game used, stream it to show you support the devs work and are grateful for that, but not give any money to Rowling herself. Just like her books, let that shit be spread through the public second hand.

I think the ram difference, especially in speed and total, is pretty significant. Also, devs from Remedy and Infinity Ward seem to indicate online that it may be a bit of a headache for development but I’m not sure if its just technical reasons or for development reasons.
