They did this with the 3DS launch too and people flamed them for it. They probably could've shipped Ocarina 3D on March 27th if they wanted to but didn't. It would've drowned out SSFIV, etc.

Why did you write "presumably the Wii U"?
For obvious reasons he couldn't have downloaded anything from the Wii eShop.
really upsets me that those neoGAF posters spent their own money to get Chipworks to do this study, and that Chipworks is in turn refunding money and making a donation to a charitable organizations yet Eurogamer and now Kotaku aren't friggin' citing NeoGAF as the original source of this information.
This is stumbling but when the PS3 posts the same numbers, even worse, during long parts of 2009 through now it isn't "stumbling" is it guys?
You say this as they release Fire Emblem fo rthe 3DS, just released a Kirby comp last year, release a Kirby every year, just released three mario games in the past 5 months, are publishing Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, purchased the Fatal Frame IP and published Spirit Camera last year.
I really wish some of the major app store games would get released on 3DS/Wii U eshops with better controls and slightly better graphics.
If you say it's unfair then why is it posted at news? new device has low install base at launch. Big surprise!
Also Luke
Those people are not very adept to video games, I'm sorry.
Hey Kotaku, I saw over 1,200 people online the other day.
How was the N64 a gen behind the Saturn and PS1? Cube was ahead of PS2 too.
No note on the fact that he says he saw the system early and that could mean a bunch of changes have been made, thus rendering his statement invalid and too out dated?
Are you kidding me Kotaku? 48 hours after launch and you're posting a story like this, acting as if it is indicative of how well the game will sell/do on this new platform? There's like a max of 300k-500k Wii U players right now, no Europe or Japan.
Where on earth did you hear that? No, it doesn't at all and there's never been any talk of it doing so
Seriously, this isn't any investigative work by Examiner. Lots of these dates have been on GameStop's site for a month now, though I think people only started noticing it recently. I don't know how this is any real news from one of the Examiner's "sources" since it's been on the site for a long time
I can't believe both IGN and Kotaku are ignoring the information that the new EA privacy policy has about the Wii U. It talks about your "Nintendo Network ID"
It was a huge success.
Hey guys
The people tweeting those stupid comments deserve to be embarassed on the internet via Kotaku. What idiots. Not every game is made for you and if you truly care about the industry and the IP you'll play it any way you can as long as the platform is worth the investment to you. If it isn't, then whoopie-di-fuckin'-do.
