It was a fucking lot fucking better than fucking Skyline.

Then you've never gifted the DVD of this film to someone who just recently got dumped, have you? :)

I'd just like to point out here that although 'Brazil' is a thoroughly excellent film, it's also extremely depressing to anyone who knows their history and political science.

I'm surprised no-one mentioned "The Boys" as a modern twist on Superheroes.

I'm late posting this but I have to say an obvious rebuttal to your agrument.

I expect that if 3D printers take off in the next few years to the point where they're a domestic piece of machinery as opposed to a rarified overpriced piece of industrial technology, heavily licenced and restricted, then yeah, our personal jetpack future will have arrived :)

In recently-modern Ireland, where many black-skinned people are born (or mostly just adopted from abroad, or possibly the babies of immigrants) and where townsfolk in remote villages still remember the day an English Woman came to town, there still remains a strong sense of pride in our welcoming way of life. Well it's not 'User Preference vs UI design' when you open an image larger than half your desktop resolution and you keep having to drag toolbars out of the way. That gets old fast.

Don't be so quick to attack Linux in general. I get your point but you have to remember; Linux distributions are built by people with more of an interest in free software than in copyrighted licenced 'product' software. Unfortunately, while "amateur" still means "enthusiast", "professional" still means "being paid for

The ethical issues I have with Apple and Sony are the same issues I'd have with any corporation that spends millions on DRM and persecuting legitimate reverse-engineers and owner-hackers, creating EULAS that attempt to defeat established civil and consumer rights and which spend more on PR campaigns to bury
