I think you're right. It annoys me when some hipster wears an Atari 2600 t-shirt to be ironic. A hipster wears a shirt like that to poke fun at it. A Geek wears it to honor the godfather of Videogame tech, but then we get grouped with the hipsters when somebody thinks we're doing it to be ironic as well.
