the pharmacy can refuse because later on if the woman gets pregnant and there is a problem with the pregnancy she will look for someone to blame and eventually will try to sue the pharmacy. I have seen it happen.
it is a horrible experience. I choose to avoid getting close to anyone ever again to minimize the risk of repeating something like that.

we have a fantastic medical system if you are rich. otherwise, the average patient gets just enough care at best to keep them functioning in the workforce.

I sympathize with this woman. Untreated pain is horrible. But you can make a patient sign all the waivers and informed consent papers you want, and if she later on has a complicated pregnancy with birth defects anyway, she will still sue the prescriber and pharmacy because of the massive bills she is facing. on the…
