@avclub-75dc8892b1c22ec9aabb50cb62b4798e:disqus No, the article was about successful adaptations. The OP I replied to talked about adaptations being BETTER than the original novels (which most of the movies mentioned in the article obviously aren't), and I replied that I thought American Psycho fit the bill.

Counterpoint: Mega Shark vs. Giant Squid.

American Psycho.

Well, that's your opinion. I don't think the show is dull at all, and have given the last three episodes A-/A (and B-ish to the first two episodes). But taste is subjective and all that.

I bought the game and enjoyed it, but I agree with the score here (I could maybe justify a B-, but that's it). Why? Because there's virtually no gameplay. I'd say that over half the game consists of QTEs, and the rest is very simplistic combat (light and heavy attack, some Rez-style shooting). I loved the insane story

Well, I think so few people watched it because the show doesn't have an obvious "hook" (horse racing isn't that exciting on paper for most people), and that made so few people stick with the show after the first HBO-y world building episode. It's good that it's been renewed, because the ratings it's been getting are

For sure, this wasn't the strongest Eastbound & Down episode, but I'd still give it a B+. The first part was better than the second, but I liked the second part too. That I like Ferrell's character, even if he's cartoony as shit, probably helped.

@DDB9000:disqus  People call you out for trolling because you call other people "fanboys" and tell us to "OK, continue playing in your sandboxes…". I think you'll find that you can slam Star Wars on here without being called anything (the regular commentators here seems to be mostly 20+ years old, so you'll not get

Well, were you really that disappointed with Dexter going dowhill? I always figured that it was just a matter of time before that premise got old (this new villain gets TOO CLOSE TO DEXTER!!!!), so I was just waiting for it to go to shit.

Yeah, I too see the growl vocal as another instrument more than anything else. And Akerfeldt is one of the best in the game. But it's difficult to get into, I know plenty of people who like heavier music as long as the vocals are more clear-sounding, but think the growl vocal is "just bad sound" or whatever. They

Map of Metal is awesome. IIRC, The AVC did a "great job internet" or a newswire on that site some time ago.

For me, season 5 was the best Seinfeld had to offer. But the show never dipped much in quality, and kept an incredibly high standard all the way through season 9. I can't really name a sitcom that went out on such a high note while going on for so many seasons, and it's to Jerry's credit that he actually decided to

How does it "ruin Seinfeld"? That's an absurd statement.

Yep, right on. I always loved Seinfeld for being funny, not for its commentary on social issues or whatever. That commentary just proved to be funny, and was much of the humour of the pre season 8 seasons. Seinfeld season 8 and 9 got more of its humour from absurd situations, but it was still extremely funny. For me,

In general, I'd say that deleted scenes are not canon. Only the scenes that actually made it into the show is canon, and of course whatever else the showrunner says about the show (like how the showrunner of Carnivale wrote up a blueprint of the mythology in that show post-cancellation).

Yeah, the stories interact in that they talk about it at Kramer's "set", George brings the squirrel to the set (and gets attacked by a fucking HAWK!) and Kramer/Newman brings Jerry's GF around to "spice up" the show (and it's revealed to her that Jerry has drugged her to play with her toys). If that's not interacting,

I agree with much of what the Occupy movement stands for, but that is certainly true for many of their protests. Protesting "The Man" as a vague idea will only get you so far.

…and the way he goes out of his way to show that he's drinking a Coke.

Newman's laugh after Kramer's El Paso line is as hysterical as the actual line. God, I love this episode.

Sims has mentioned a couple of times that The Merv Griffin Show is a controversial episode in general and in the comments. I've seen one or two people saying that they didn't like it in the comment section, while more or less everyone else either love it or really like it. I've never really heard anyone else saying
