I’d been living overseas for 18 months before i returned home for the first time. I had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel growing up called honey who was really old and was experiencing kidney failure at this stage. We all knew the time was going to be soon, but she managed to stay semi okay until 2 days after I came

Yeah, in the end I was so thoroughly confused with what happened here.

But if you reread properly then you would see we’re saying the same thing. I’m saying the situation is bad in Australia, you’re saying the situation is bad in Australia.

I’m in a “discussion” with someone in another thread about some weird bullshit where they don’t believe me that Australians are becoming more self aware in terms of racism, like no matter the big right swing that’s happening there’s an even bigger swing to be more accepting.

i literally just moved back from living in Paris for 3 years so yeah, i’ve experienced two pretty volatile countries. The last part of Paris I lived in is infamous as a migrant strong area and I have lots of friends with migrant backgrounds in Paris (not just “expats”).

Yeah, I mean there’s only recently been articles about improving the diversity on Australian screens. When you have shows like Offspring (i don’t know any other current australian shows haha) that basically only show a white Australian family (with one Aboriginal woman in the cast as well as one Asian Australian) in

not self promoting. Just saying that Australians are becoming just as enlightened about race issues as the US.

or even after 6 months when you’re at a restaurant about to share a piece of meat and he orders it WELL DONE. I’m a rare girl and can go a little bit more cooked than that but if you’re eating at a good quality restaurant with great meat, you DO not eat it WELL DONE.

Situation is very complicated in Australia. I wrote a huge post about why this ad is important to us but i’m still in the GOD DAMN GREYS AFTER 5 YEARS ON JEZEBEL.

So, I’m Australian and our current climate right now isn’t the most loving and accepting (I guess that’s the whole world). It would be very easy for them to keep doing the exact same ads as they usually do which mainly just focus on telling people that eating lamb is what makes you a true Australian, but this ad, I

I've been commenting on jez for 3 years at least and I have yet to be ungrayed too. I don't understand why this hasn't happened yet

what

I’m not, i’m saying that there’s a difference between serving sizes in different countries. So an American sized glass of wine is bigger than a French one. So when I say i have 4 glasses of wine it’s more equivalent to 4 of yours as there are 7 glasses of wine in a bottle in France.

That was in the morning and before a cup of coffee but maybe i was still tipsy from the bottle of wine I shared with my mother the night before (still not in America). but you can make assumptions again if you would like!

WHERE DID I SAY THAT I DRIVE WHEN I DRINK. I DONT EVEN DRIVE. I LIVE IN PARIS. OH MY GOD CAN YOU PEOPLE LEARN TO READ. IN OTHER COUNTRIES A BOTTLE OF WINE IS 7 DRINKS. I AM NOT AMERICAN. DRINKING HALF A BOTTLE OF WINE IS NOT A BIG DEAL FOR MOST PEOPLE. IM NOT EVEN CLAIMING I FEEL FINE AFTER THAT AMOUNT JUST THAT I’M

I’m that girl that they’re referencing and I didn’t claim to be better/exactly the same. Just that I didn’t feel out of control or wasted after that amount. The most i claimed was that it lubricated me more socially, which is completely normal. It really depends on the drinking culture/attitudes someone is brought up

Actors and musicians are artists first and foremost, we shouldn’t need to know every ounce of their personal life, it’s their job to entertain us through fiction (or nonfiction if biographical/historical). Their lives aren’t our entertainment, their work is. There’s a clear difference between someone like Renee

I clearly wasn’t saying that I have a drinking problem. Just that I CAN do that. The most I normally drink is 4-5 glasses which isn’t even a bottle. To somehow take that as me drinking that much all the time is just ridiculous. I drink a maximum of 10 standard drinks a week, I would say. I was just making a comment

You sound like someone who doesn’t drink which is fine but I don’t think judging other people based on whoever you socialise with that drinks a lot is the right way to go. Like I said, in France it’s totally acceptable to have several glasses of wine or more and most people can handle themselves well. Other places
