That's a fascinating idea re Thawne. Without some extra like that, Future Barry is as much a letdown as some of the other contenders.

She's been told that she would ally with Savitar by the acolytes. I figure that after seeing that he's Future Barry and knows how it goes down, she knows that he's for real.
The direction I was hoping they'd go is that he'd be someone marginal or unknown to 2017 Team Flash, and after learning his identity, they discover that in 2017 he's benign, so they end up facing the "should you go back and kill baby Hitler before he's done anything?" dilemma, and maybe if they try to incapacitate…
I guess the question is, how does Savitar's memory work? He knows what present Barry is going to do and therefore seeks out Tracy, apparently because he "remembers," but the how did 2024 Emo Barry defeat him? (As yet there's no indication that he's in on it.)
Wally was out to me because Savitar said that Flashpoint gave him the idea of tricking Wally into becoming a speedster, so no alternate speedster Wally before that. Eddie was out because Reverse Flash on LoT was still an aberration/remnant. And the last-minute Ronnie bandwagon was How Sway territory.
Never quite ruled out Future Flash, though I was actively against it. (I did think that a future version of someone else who is sincerely good in the "present" might be interesting.) But they certainly have some 'splaining to do to make this more compelling motivation-wise (when did this version's timeline exist,…
Gustin said that it "creates problems" for the team when they learn Savitar's identity. In light of this, as long as we're throwing crazy theories out there, mine are:
Savitar claims that Barry is there when he is created. Presumably as of yet future Barry has not experienced that event. And for all we know, in this timeline, that event doesn't take place until 2025, at which point Barry finds out and gets shocked. But Killer Frost, as Savitar's ally, currently knows all this.
Brought up in one of the four-way crossover episodes.
1. It would be nice if Barry could have some development that didn't require visiting the Speed Force or an Elseworlds scenario (Flashpoint, Music Meister, this episode).
I don't like the Eddie hypothesis either (if Eddie's not "dead," it throws a wrench into the Flash S1 finale and LOT S2), but in its defense,
Ronnie also seems a little off given that Savitar called KF "my child."
He calls her "my child," why not?
One problem with this season is that things are a bit muddled from the perspective of Savitar's personal timeline. He talks about things that (from his perspective) took place in the past, like Barry's presence when he is created, but apparently are in the future from the perspective of even 2024 Barry, who hasn't…
Not sure the Wally = Savitar thing works because Savitar said that he got the idea to trick Wally into taking his place in the speed force from Wally's becoming the Flash in Flashpoint, which suggests that Savitar also existed in a timeline where Wally wasn't the Flash. (Obviously he could be bluffing or the writers…
Elsa (Frozen) puts on gloves and they block her abilities. Maybe they were doing something analogous with the vibe/wave powers being tied to hands.
Maybe they're going by Elsa logic.
Future Barry is future clone Bruce.
1. Still up in the air about whether Panabaker's "There are really no secrets or hints leading up to to it" comment means that it's someone we know but it's unearned, or it's a complete shock. Trying not to read too much into her reaction at the end of the episode, could be seen as much as her reaction to recognizing…
They said that Wally's spine was "shattered" so I take it that it was much worse.
