When I first saw the trailer, I thought the guitar guy was stupid, but then I decided to see the movie, and he’s now my favourite character. Everyone is insane in the movie, so he fits right in.

My thoughts exactly. The editing yes! But also the pacing was masterful. No little slow filler moments, just a bunch of big, thundering in-you-face scenes which never let up.

For me it was the practical effects, stunt choreography, and cinematography. I’m also a jalop, so the cars and Mad Max in general were a huge draw. I also found the story and world-building to be as compelling as the originals.

I can’t imagine this film would have NEAR the impact at home rather than in a theater with the massive scope of scenes and the shocked crowd reactions at some points.

They did use the term in the movie, during the scene where the tanker was being hitched up to the war rig. They get called kamikrazy war boys’ and ‘fukushima war boys’.

It’s the same in South Korea as well. I love countries where the entire culture is based on the honor system. If you lie/cheat/steal, you’re dishonoring yourself and everyone associated with you.

I watched Mad Max: Fury Road for the second time this summer yesterday. Unsurprisingly It still holds up as totally awesome and a thing of beauty.
